AXED John Adeleye has launched a barbed attack on judge Cheryl Cole for miming her new single on Sunday's show.
John, 30, hit out after 15 million viewers saw him lose the sing-off to Treyc Cohen.

He sniped: "In a singing contest, miming might not be the best decision.

"For performers like Cher, that's not such a good example."

John also accused Cheryl and Simon Cowell of hitting his chances by ganging up on his mentor Louis Walsh.

He said: "After my song I'm expecting feedback but they're talking about distractions.

"How's it fair to me and Louis?"
Good on John for speaking out. Its true what he says, Cheryl doesn't set a very good example when she goes out there and mimes in a show where the contestants have to sing live and are judged (mostly) on their vocals.

Fair comment : how can a "judge" pass comments on the acts' vocal abilities and then go out and mime on the same show?

He's right about Cowell as well.He spent more time talking about the two dancers than John's vocal performance. Is it a "singing competition" or not Simon?

Cheryl mimes, judges talk about irrelevant things, Cowell gangs up on Louis...all very known facts after 6 years of XF, what was he expecting this year?

Even when John's being critical he comes across as a really nice guy. I hope he does well out of appearing on the show. He has a lovely voice.

Well done for saying what most are thinking John

John's not best pleased with Simon either...

He's has made some great points - I just wish the contestants were allowed to put their honest replies back to the judges comments (but unfortuantely, that would never be allowed to happen live on tv).

Good points drak.
The forerunner show, Pop Idol, only had two series but it really was mostly about the singing.

In this series of XFactor Cheryl said it in week one:
"It's all about the performance and dancing, the singing will come later."
XFactor gives the chance for a contestant once a week to sing live on TV and John achieved that.
I am enjoying this series in that some of the song choices have been songs I have known.
The Simon Louis squabbling is daft and put on for the show.

I wish there was a singing contest on TV that is all about the singing but XFactor isn't.
Having said I am quite pleased with the format and honesty about making a star out of a wannabe.
Who cares if Cheryl mimed, I didn't expect her to sing live anyway.
We may have complained louder if the technically tweeked voice (hers?) on the backing record was out of tune.

well done John you are speaking the truth, her mimimg is beyond the joke now and really hope people will realise it is not right for a so-called singing judge to get away with it(the show is turning into a laughing stock, i admit a popular show but the credibility has gone out the window, a miming judge and one who talks about dogs s***ging instead of giving a contestant advice on how he sang, does not make a respected programme. Ruth from this morning went up in my estimation yesterday what she said about Cheryl Cole well done Ruth!!!

Just wish one contestant would say it live. I could actually see Wagner having the bottle.

John has some good points - all he did was speak the truth. I bet the choreography wasnt his choice. He's right about Cheryl and Simon too.
I'd find it a bloody insult that Simon spoke about 2 dogs mating instead of my vocals if I was John
