Please Help projector
I have just bought a Toshiba TLP470 projector, and within a week of owning it, it has stopped working. I have tried everything, tried using all the inputs, cleaned the filer, gone through setup menus with no luck. I am no projector expert, but I dont think it is the lamp, as all menus come up like usual, but when I plug an input in, nothing comes up. i have tried a range of resolutions with no luck

Some projectors, especially if they're intended for presentations have a "video mute" function which will turn the screen black, but menus will still work.

Obviously not the lamp!
I assume you know to press the [input] button on the projector case to cycle through the inputs? (or the specific button on the remote i.e. RGB or VIDEO) I would have thought that any setting that "blanks" the projector so that all inputs are inactive would be reset when the projector is switched off/on, but you never know. On the remote is a [mute] button "to cut off the picture and sound tempoarily", according to the manual. Also next to the [mute] button is the [call] button which apparently displays which input the projector is set to. The projector has VGA-IN and VGA-OUT ports, are you sure you have connected the VGA source to the correct port? (RGB Input) Sorry if that sounds a bit obvious! For all inputs to fail would be extremely unusual, so either the [mute] thing is the issue or the projector is just set to the wrong input. (I don't think this projector auto-searches for an input with a signal on it) http://www.projectorcentral.com/Toshiba-TLP-470.htm |
