That link is sessioned but I am assuming you are talking about the NEC e313 on ThreePay?

I tried it a couple of months ago. It's a good, basic phone with high end features. The camera is excellent for a phone, with maximum resolution of 640x480. The colour screen is 65k and bright and clear. The video playback is smooth. There is a Memory Stick Duo slot which accepts upto 128Mb cards for storing your MP3s. However it is quite large, although fairly light and it feels quite toy-like, i mean the opposite of solid, I suppose. I never got a chance to try battery life properly but if they give you 2 batteries in the box it can't be that good!

You don't get a data cable in the box (not on ThreePay anyway) and you also don't get a Memory Stick so out of the box the only way to get your pics/video/sounds to and from the phone is by e-mail.

And there is some strange bug in earlier versions of the phone software. When you recieve a new SMS-Message, if your SMS Inbox is full, instead of holding the message at the network and prompting you to delete old messages - the phone accepts the message, realises there is nowhere to store it and discards it. It plays the ringtone but if you enter the Inbox there is no new message because the phone has erased it! If you clear the Inbox it will work fine again until it becomes full. I was told that only a firmware update can correct this.

I really didn't get on with that phone but I really like the network so I instead gave the 313 to a friend and bought the Motorola A835. Cost me £49.99 new from a 3 Store although the price card said £74.99. Much better - smaller, feels very solid and well built, dual cameras (640x480) Bluetooth, Infrared, more base memory, I love it. I think Motorola did a great job.

Remember on ThreePay you have to feed the phone a minimum of £15 a month, so if you're a very low user then the service aint for you.

The e313 can be picked up for £29.99 in Argos by the way.

I saw the same phone for £19-99 in Carphone Warehouse store, i asume you have to top it up to get it for that price,as for the phone i have had one and i returned it cos i was having real software problems and my nethew also took his back too with other faults,i dont know if this is the reason for that phone going so cheap cos the store person where i took it back said that loads have been returned (same model),just to let you know that i also suffered signal problems.....

It's £29.99 @ The Link in Edinburgh and also the same price @ The Carphone Warehouse, although that's inclusive of a £10.00 trade-in with them...

Ah i see!, dont sound to good!

I asked, cause it was soo cheap, and i thought it would have been crap. Ah well. Just cant wait till the new argos catolgue to come out. They usually have some cheap-er phones in it.

Yes, but Argos are usually pretty expensive in reality - You're best off buying just as a catalogue is about to end, and checking the website from time to time.

i.e. until Saturday if you spend £50 you get a free £5 gift voucher, over £100 a free £10 gift voucher. Also I managed to grab a Samsung E700 for £199 with a free £20 airtime voucher by checking the website, if I hadn't checked the website I would never have noticed the cheaper special offer price. Soon went back up to £230 with no voucher .
