Are One Direction the new Beatles?
They obviously have the talent, and they are prompting the same levels of hysteria we saw when the Beatles were at the height of their fame. I can see Liam becoming the new Paul McCartney and Harry the new Lennon.

They are better than the Beatles actually


and I am sure Simon will confirm as much saturday-

They are completely dreamy/ well fit and when they sing it sounds like there are about twenty singers on stage not just five- something the Beatles never acomplished

Don't forget the Beatles were considered as a teeny pop band in the beginning. Harry writes a lot of songs, that in time will probably be considered as classic as "Let It Be" and "She Loves You".

I'd love if one of the tasks on the X factor was that the contestants had to write their own song...

Either way One Direction are not the new Beatles going on what we've seen of them so far... but I think you are just windiing people up anyway

You couldn't rule out $imon saying something like that at the weekend. as some of the hype about some distinctly average performances from distinctly average performers has gone into hyperdrive this year.
