The idea of the baby grow was good but there was one major flaw that no one picked up on (maybe they did and I didn't see it so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). The whole point of the baby grow was that it was heat sensitive and if it went into a certain danger zone, it would change colour, alerting the partents that there was something wrong with their child.
When it was pointed out that the cost of it was almost £25, one of the team members pointed out that it was a good indicator of temperature change, which has an impact on cot deaths and many mother's would consider it a small price to pay to keep their children safe.
What got me, was that while the suit did change color, did it set off an alarm if the suit reached a certain temperature? If not, then I don't see the advantage of this suit at all. The biggest worry for parents is when they and their child is alseep, as this is most likely when cot death will occur and unless the suit is alarm operated, I don't see what advantage a colour changing suit will have?
Again, maybe it was alarm operated and I missed this. Could someone clear this up for me please? If there is no alarm, then this suit is nothing more than a waste of money. Sure it might turn white if the child is too hot, but a good visual indicator of that is that the child's face usually goes flush and they will emitte a high pitched cry, which will alert you to the fact that all is not well.
