Despite Google saying that they weren't going to launch another handset after the Nexus One, there are a few rumours that they are going to be launching a Nexus Two - possibly by this side of Christmas:

This could be interesting. No indication as to who is making the phone, though they seem to imply Samsung aren't, which seems an odd thing to suddenly throw in. Given that the Nexus One was effectively class leading at its time of release (the HTC Desire usurped it slightly with extra RAM, but otherwise the two phones were identical), is it possible that the Nexus Two could be a rival to the Desire HD and the phone Samsung are about to announce at the start of November?

I think I could be tempted by a Nexus Two if it does come to fruition. HTC were fairly rapid at getting Froyo rolled out to the unbranded Desires but there was still a month or so between the Nexus One getting it and the Desire - even longer for branded handsets. It would be nice to be first in the food chain for future upgrades by having a phone as Google intended it - that said, if the next Android version does little to improve the UI, I might miss HTC Sense. Although probably not that much.

What are people's thoughts on this?
