In one word:
No. Seriously though, anyone can sing, it's wether they can sing well or not that's debatable. |

sounds like a typical stage school performance, over egging it and sounding a bit like a cartoon character .. like Betty Boo
she's not dire but not to my taste |

Apparently this was a talent competition in her home town - she came 2nd.... the girl who won also auditioned for X factor - but didn't get anywhere.....
FWIW - no I don't think she can sing very well. She CAN sing - but she isn't very good. |

Wish she could sing, she'd be great.
That was truly fricking terrible, and shows how bad she is. It's bad even for some club/bar.... but in terms of professional singing - awful. |

Oh dear, I've heard this before. She's just an ordinary kind of kid. This is pretty painful. Having said that, she's worked hard to find a way of dressing up her 'talent' in a way that makes people pay attention to her. Of all of them, with the exception of Katie, Cher is most about the styling rather than the voice.
Her audition, even though I don't like her, is one of the stand out moments of XF and probably still will be even when the competition has been won (by someone else). |

Pitchy and I know now why she goes for all the rapping\street stuff, it's because she has an unremarkable voice. Having said that it is better than I expected.

She can sing, there's no doubt in my mind about that, but she can't sing any better than thousands of other people. She's all about image, not singing. She wears far too much make up, has a very sluttish dress sense, and her voice is actually very annoying to my ears. Perhaps in a few years when she's had time to develop and mature she will improve. I know a few singers who start out at her age and aren't great, they can't control their singing/breathing, and struggle to hit notes that seem quite simple. After a few years they learn to deal with it better.

Hmm..some helpful advice: It's not that she can't sing but I think a vocal coach could help her singing voice be more controlled. The warble-y thing is a bit too much and it doesn't really embellish the rest of what she's singing becuase that needs to be better. When you do that whole ad-lib thing it's like you're trying to show off when the normal key 'in the box' isn't as good as it can be.

Yeah, she can deffinately sing - needs a little more control but she's got something. What she lacks in singing she makes up for in performance and 'swagger'.

Not bad but not good either,
Ask me again after Saturday. Assuming she doesnt back out of the "no rap ballad" idea.

Oh lordy. looooooool. To be fair she's probably learnt her vocal limitations since and adapted to that accordingly. Her audition shows she can work with what she has even if its not massively pleasant to the ear. She can make up for what she seemingly lacks with all that braggadacio (which is presumably what Simon et al believes counts for new-wave talent, lmao) I do actually think she will do well this Saturday with everything stripped down and just a focus on basic singing. The fanwanking will see her through regardless. Quote:

the video was from a competition where she had to do different styles every week, so she hadn't much choice in what style she'd sing. Quote:
Her whole 'style' seems a complete fabrication. Wouldn't suprise me if she had a stab at various personas before (just like in that YT vid) and when all else failed, decided to carve out a little faux gangstaaar niche for herself - as if this is who she always was from the start. LOL. Oh Cher.
