mmm, it doesn't look good. madonna's album dropped like a stone on itunes and landed at #1 with her last album, but madge's has a lot of older fans that will have bought physical copies. surely, cheryl's fans would be younger in the main and would purchase digital copies?

to be honest, i think this could very well be her last release if it under performs. she doesn't seem the type to go out and actively look for an alternative deal and she's set up for life financially.

maybe, i am being over dramatic, but if she fails to deliver the results, i cant see the record company financing another album...

i think complacency has set in during this campaign, but again, that could be a little harsh. it depends really how much time she actually works on the x factor, that could be taking up a lot of her time.

the best thing to come out of this campaign for me is the "i dont care" attitude, it was about time she addressed her critics across the board and just owned the aloof stance. i have been in similar place recently and i have adopted this stance at work. the rest of the managers there hate me for that business on facebook i mentioned in a previous post, but i have just fronted it out.

i have actually deleted my facebook profile today, after speaking from my father. i had a choice of removing all my work colleagues or just deleting the profile completely. it was a rash decision, but i am just sick of the falseness and just want a professional working relationship with my colleagues, which isn't too much to ask.

i think i will gravitate to twitter, my brother is on there and i should really communicate with him more.

Cheryl will most likely have a 360 deal, the label will take a cut of everything she makes, from tours, to X Factor to her sponsership deals, they won't be dropping her anytime soon. They may ask/force her to do more promo though and she'll probably be made to release more singles from this album.

I agree, I love her new attitude, long may it remain. As for Facebook, I don't use it anymore either, though I don't bother using twitter much either.

I doubt Cheryl will be dropped, she is more of a singles artist these days anyway, both singles from OH so far have done very well and she's literally just broken a record and is about to announce a tour (I've heard?), she is too profitable to drop even if the album does under-perform.

Being a singles artists only work though if the singer bothers to release plenty of singles, something Cheryl seems to have had little interest in doing.

I really hope this is the album she goes all out on, plenty of singles and loads of promo.

The album is grown on me the more i've listened to it. Definitely some of Cheryl's best work.

Little disappointed by how it's doing so far. What are the midweeks? Still big artists don't always have a number one album. I just hope the album sells well and at least two more singles are released. A promo single would've been great too.

The promo hasn't been that heavy though has it? Cheryl should have saved her Jonathan Ross appearance till this weekend or last. And Appeared on Chatty Man.

Right....ONLY HUMAN has 18 songs...i have listened to it on You Tube today.....and gosh this has to be the first album of hers that on the whole...most songs are genuinely great!

I am surprised! I love that she has samples of audios across the album...analysis of what makes people happy, what makes people human etc...and of course the usual heartbreak..but that is a standard

But genuinely I am surprised that it is actually a great Pop album! 3 Words was a mixed bag, Messy Little Raindrops even moreso, Million Lights was better but still had a variety of filler and no cohesion...whereas Only Human actually feels cohesive with the electronics and funky sounds...without being too generic and typical....It feels like a girls aloud album almos with the attitude and cohesion...and the majority of sonvs could be an anthem of some sort.

Sure it is pretty simple...but Cheryl we dont look for "depth" but gosh she surprised me here...and I love that Nicola Roberts worked with her on it too...you can definitely tell her presence there!

As for sales...personally "i dont care" if an album is good it is good....but alas i dont really followCheryl too closely i knew her first two solo ouings went right on top due to Winter/X-Factor presence etc....so who knows?

I can imagine the main board, Cheryl flops etc etc!

As far as i have checked she's in the top ten i believe?

A lot of artist haven't always had number one album after number one.

ok, i took the bait when that madonna troll that is besotted with kylie minogue crawled back out of the woodwork and dragged me into that thread by mentioning me personally. i know they're reading this, because they thrive on the drama and have little else to do with their time. however, it was the little monsters that reported their multiple profiles last year, when i tried to get this person to send me a personal message, because they was basically posting the same essay on amazon, on here with different profiles and on other forums including madonna fan sites. i hope somehow they find some prospective and manage to lead a more constructive existence, but ultimately, i dont care.

so the album has bombed, boo hoo. will it stop me listening to it or hope that she continues with her music career? in a word, no,

Cheryl announced that she is releasing Only Human as the third single, released March 22nd.

You can see stills from the video here,

I genuinely have not got a clue how it will do chart wise, but its the first 3rd single since Parachute, so at least she hasn't abandoned it, like I had started to think she had.
