I don't believe the drive or determination to get the job argument. People who display drive often can't perform but can pretend. I wouldn't trust his Lordship on what we have seen to make that call - his biases are too apparent. Verbiage or life story is often more effective than it should be - more so since Apprentice candidates have learnt Sugar 101. Determination to get the job can equally reflect lack of options, delusion, desperation or an attempt to stroke the Sugar ego. Honest people with other options are naturally going not to sound so desperate, but they may be an awful lot more effective.”

Lee didn't sound bright, but he got results both on the show, and in the real world. You not followed Amscreen's progress?
Unless someone is delusional, drive will make them perform, and learn how to do it better each time. Drive is a word for working harder to get a particular result. Desperation and begging don't actually work on this show if you haven't shown sufficent results to back you up. Might get you a second chance (Syed & Micheal got too many) but it gets boring. Sugar isn't a charity. He's going to have to pay someone 100k for a year at the end of this. And just to check, both finalists work for an unseen 6 months so they can be properly assessed. That's what decides the winner.
And yeah, over qualified people can get on this show. But just as in the real world, it's being right for the job that gets it.
