I was thinking it might be Thriller, I heard an acoustic version on YouTube he would have been able to do, but I'm not sure if that classifies as 'intense'..

Oh please God, no. Most overdone song ever. Although it wouldn't surprise me, as it was performed (brilliantly) in the season finale of Glee, and we all know how much Cowell loves (read: totally rips off) Glee.

Bad Romance would be pretty good, although, again, it's becoming overdone.

I'm still holding out for The Black Parade!

I hope it's good...The trouble with him is he keeps going on about intensity all the time; it's going to become a gimmick. You can't survive for long by just doing intense songs if they're not good or sung well. Bohemian Rhapsody though - ? I can understand in some ways, but after last week's arguably pretty bad "Diamonds are Forever..." He could end up just shouting a song like that and miss why it's a difficult vocal...

Can one person sing this

What about the 'Galileo' (falsetto), could he manage that - unless they had a backing singer to do the echo

I have a vague recollection of G4 singing it

It's a long time ago, I may be wrong

Well, it's good that he can sing well, isn't it?

Diamonds are Forever was an awesome vocal. The more I listen to it it, the more layers I hear to his voice. And I think you can accuse Aiden of a lot of things, but belting out or 'shouting' his songs isn't something I think people would associate with him.

His vocal is not good on that song, it was shaky and out of tune from the outset; Whether you're fan, to say that, when the truth is there to see, is really not doing him any favours. He was really good the first week.

Lisening to the original Diamonds are Forever and that version that Aiden did is an insult to a powerful diva song.

If he does Bohemian Rhapsody, he's likely to screw it up. G4 sang it, but he doesn't have the kind of range of them or Queen. It's a misleadingly tough vocal.

It's clearly Thriller, the best selling album according to Wikipedia and therefore the "massivest" song in the world.

He's my favourite contestant but I hope they go against the stereotype they've built for him soon, not because I don't like it, but because it might be alienating some of the audience and I want him to go as far as possible in the competition.. I mean as people have been saying he did three different sorts of songs at his audition - one by Michael Bublé, Toxic, and Gold Digger, and that side of him isn't really getting across because they're determined for him to show his intensity in a moody way.

I though Cher might be doing thriller - with a huge performace to go with it...

Aiden might do Phantom of the Opera...?

Be interesting to see regardless...

Nah, I don't think its really Cher's song... It's more likely in Aidens favour.

Well, this is where you and I disagree. Good vocals, for me, don't come down to hitting all the notes perfectly; an intelligent reading of the song, an empathy with the lyrics and different shades to a singer's voice are all just as important.

(And as a side note: I don't think he was ever out of tune. I'm listening to it back now and I can't hear any place where I think 'terrible note'. I would agree that Jealous Guy was all over the place, though.)

Aiden didn't need to sing DAF as a powerful diva song, because he's not a powerful diva. He's a shy young man who took the essence of the lyrics and turned it into a song about obsession and greed, Very appropriate, when you read the lyrics.

I personally think Bohemian Rhapsody is an overrated song with one good 'part' to it (the first section) The rest is self-indulgent rock by numbers. So I'll be very happy if Aiden doesn't have to sing it, because there are far more interesting songs he could be working with.

He does mention a little dance at the end... so you could be right... I don't have a clue what that will be like when you consider how Jackson sang that song - the danger is taking a huge Jackson song and cocking it up...

Watching the video back I don't get the impression he was being serious about doing a dance at the end, I read it as him just joking about a way to break up the intensity of the thing because Cheryl wouldn't like it otherwise... that might just be me though
