Konk Studios Up for Sale

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but after reading Uncut I was shocked and saddenned by the fact that Ray Davies has to sell Konk Studios, where he's recorded since the 1970s, along with others such as the Sex Pistols, the Kooks, etc

Apparently it's due to the urbanisation of music, which made me laugh slightly.

Sign of the times, I guess. Music, at least the popular stuff, is pretty much "urbanised". Genres are just one big blur... R&B is dance, dance is hip hop, pop is R&B

Variety is good, but popular music lacks a lot of that.

I'll try and keep old style music alive with my songwriting, I'm not writing any rubbish like Bieber
