What are the movie soundtracks that make you cry??

Only one composer has ever made me cry buckets

James Horner

Specifically this

Bicentennial man - the gift of Mortality
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lY7rsm44Tq4

Also Land before time - Whispering winds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plRLjypYFGQ

And also the Pagemaster main theme

Never ever fail to make me cry

Although Danny Elfmans work on Edward scissorhands is also gorgeous!

especially 'Grand Finale'

Schindler's list. The main theme and that chilling childrens chorus one when you see the girl in the red coat.

Titanic. Obvious

A League of their Own (my all time favourite film) This used to be my playground and now and forever on the soundtrack. It's so sad near the end when they go to the hall of fame bit. Getting old is just so sad and this film symbolises life amazingly and makes you really feel for your grandparents and how you'll be in years down the line. The soundtrack is just fantastic. it fits so well with the film.

There's more but I can't think! There's songs that if they come on in the car cos I always have my ipod on shuffle I'll start tearing up straight away and have to skip them.

The Schindler's List theme is devastating.

Add to that, The Straight Story: David Lynch's beautiful film of an 80 year old man who travels hundreds of miles on the back of a ride-on alwnmower in order to visit his ailing brother. The film is hilarious, touching and uplifting. Angelo Badalamenti's soundtrack sends shivers down the spine. This scene, for example, had me giving out loud, gasping sobs.

Badalamenti also did the famous soundtrack for David Lynch's Twin Peaks.

For me it's the previously mentioned "Edward Scissorhands" soundtrack by Danny Elfman. I can't listen to more than ten seconds of it - any of it - without bursting into floods of tears.

Some good ones mentioned already.

John Williams, theme from JFK.

Stirs the blood. Also...

James Horner, Resolution And Hyperspace, Aliens.

This music encapsulates the closing scene perfectly. Ripley, having escaped the terror of confronting a predatory alien, continues safely on her journey. But does she? After all, space might be filled with these horrifying creatures.
