Is anyone else fed up with the annoying ads posted over people's threads?

.......because theyre driving me mad.

I can't read what people are saying because of these floating ads that keep appearing over what forum members have posted.

Sort it out DS. We know you need to make money from ads, but do they have to cover up people's opinions?

You can't see the "x" in the corner though, and when you click on where it should be, the whole ad opens.

I've got my pop up blocker on, but they keep appearing, and won't go away.

I don't know, its so irritating, I just give up and leave the forum.
What a ridiculous idea. Sick to death of this aggressive marketing.

I couldn't find an x on the one in the middle, couldn't read the post at all but luckily someone had quoted it further down.

Same here jock. Who the hell thinks these things up?

Instead of making people want their product, it just makes people sick of them.

Thing is, it doesn't work anyway. I have no idea what the ad was for, only trying to find a way to get rid of it.

There's one with a CRUISE SHIP that keeps popping up, and it keeps reminding me of Mary

Sorry to hear about your problems with the adverts. We obviously don't want them to interfere with your browsing so if you could let us know which specific ads are doing so, ad ops will be able to look into it. Screenshots are always useful - upload them to a service like tinypic.com or imageshack.us and stick a link to them in this thread.

I've passed a link to this thread to Richard who may be along to ask further questions shortly.

i've just noticed that the horizontal banner at the top is reading our posts and putting adverts based on the content.

I just got one for london (User name) and popup blockers!

Whats the point in having a forum, when the ads are covering the threads? How are you supposed to read them?

Its bad enough when they keep flashing and moving at the sides, without blocking what people are trying to read.

Bad idea DS.

Hiya, we shouldn't have anything like this happening, this sounds like something is broken... We do sometimes have expanding ads that open & close as you mouse over them, but they shouldn't be in the middle of the page!

Could someone please email me a screengrab of this happening (Print Scrn button on your keyboard, usually next to the F12 button, paste into an email & send it on)?

Send it on to adops@hf-uk.com & we'll work out what it is.

Richard
