anyone know of an app abit like joikuspot that will turn my HTC wildfire into a WiFi hotspot?

You may need to root your phone untill wildfire gets froyo, this appn works well http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/

I see rooted a lot, what does rooting your device actually mean?
