This is the vocal range for Mariah Careys new Christmas album. The vocals are fantastic, its definitely a return to form for Mariah. |

Thanks for the link!
![]() I love watching these types of videos, especially since I know nothing about vocal range, though I do know that Mariah is immensely talented and uses her voice in an amazing way. |

Hmmmmmmmmmm
I'm not so sure to tell you the truth. I've heard the whole album and while her vocals on two songs in particular are amazing. She sounds awful on The First Noel. Its way too croaky and feels as though she is straining herself. |

Ohh I love the first Noel. The soft vocals work so well and then a like the step wise vocals in the climax.

Her belting is fantastic on this album. Shes returned to a better technique than shes been using for the last few years and she's using more vibrato than she has done in the past few years too.

I agree. I'd say they are her best belts technically since glitter.
Although Your Girl from Emancipation is a belting masterclass!!! |

I'd say since charmbracelet, cuz she was killing the upper register belt on charmbracelet she has like 10 G5's on that album.

Mariah became a studio-only artist long ago. I would still see her live but I wouldn't expect to be listening to the Mariah from 1996.

She can still give satisfactory live performances sometimes she suprises and gives great ones. Anyhow it doesnt matter how many takes she did because a) everybody does retakes until they are satisfied b) You have to be working with something to produce those kind of vocals. Otherwise everyone would be displaying four or five octave ranges on their albums. It wouldnt matter how many re-takes I did, my voice would never be able to produce those vocals in the studio.
