I think the problem lies with you rather than her if this is the case. Cher has nothing in common with that single at all, other than that they both fall (to a certain degree) under the "hip hop" label.

But thank you for reminding me of that fabulous video.

I con sort of see where you coming from but that video a bad example. If anything its would be the very late 80s/early 90s as this picture of the female rapping groupe Salt and Pepper shows you the same style of fashion.

- It's Salt-n-Pepa.

- Their fasion style is nothing like Cher's.

- Their style of music and rapping is nothing like Cher's. Have a look / listen, since you evidently have not bothered: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCadcBR95oU

You can't compare Cher with Salt N Pepa. Salt N Pepa were legendary female rappers

Good lord, - 'tis like Louis Walsh wandered onto the forum -

"......you remind me of a young Salt-n-Pepa"

No doubt someone will come on and suggest she

"reminds me of a female Vanilla Ice"

............

Everytime I see/hear Cher I feel all the harem pants are short is a LOADSAMONEY t-shirt, so I do see where you're coming from OP. She brings me back, even though she thinks she's bringing forward, and the judges are trying to screw me sideways by talking so much ill-informed c**p.....

LOL, she's too young to realise that most of her "new" style has been done before....bet she would think flares were new inventions!

Well 80's has been in for a while now so Cher can be the pioneer of the 90's revival.

Everybody get your shellsuits and Bermuda shorts out.

She reminds me of Paula abdul and salt n pepa, TLC etc, not nearly as good as any of them but she has been very 90s to me since week 1, not just the song choices but dancing and style.

I will say and type it SALT AND PEPPER if I want and if you dont like it you know where you can shove it.

And shame you cant read as I never said she could sing like them. Only that her fashion style is abit like them. And if you bothered to look at the picture i posted you would see that they are similar style.

now if you dont mind I will go back to talk to others who dont act so uptight and rudely aggressive over the X fator forum of all things.

she does have a prematurely aged face, but i wouldn't say she looks like she's in her 90s, 70s at the latest.

in an entirely unrelated note is it just me that has nightmares of freaks with child's bodies and grandad's faces coming to attack me?

That's crap that Cher is 90s. Rap is a very modern, contemporary phenomenen. You know nothing about music.

Modern, of course, is a relative concept. The protagonists of the Modernist movement are, for example, all dead now. She only thinks she's contemporary because she's too young to remember those whose shoes she should be licking and too lazy to find them.

Can't stand Cher but don't get the Run DMC connection. What she does is an evolution of those groups from the nineties. In reality she is just doing a half baked copy of a number of current acts including her mentor Cheryl who is also doing a half baked copy of a number of current acts.

Rap was underground in the late seventies.but hit mainstream in the eighties. It is an evolution from 'Beat Poetry' and was started by DJ'S in the US. So it might be you that knows nothing about music.
