They should be higher now. Corrie has had a big week last week though so viewers are probably tuning in for the conclusion. EastEnders could be up on last night as tonight is quite a big episode with the fight and the reveal of Eddie and Vanessa.”

What a lame excuse!!

I agree its a crap excuse. Corrie was out of its normal slot for most of last week.

I hate saying this but as a loyal EE fan I hope its ratings stay down as all these award wins are sending messages to the Beeb that all is well then it isn't.

If the ratings send a better message then changes might be made before we get into a situation it will take months, even years to recover from.

Last night. 13th September.

EastEnders - 7.9 million (36.7%)
Emmerdale - 6.55m (32.7%)
Hollyoaks - 1.07m (5.7%)
Doctors - 1.63m (22.8%)

EastEnders still below average. Its ratings should have started to go up by now plus this week has been hyped.

Is EE down much on the same date last year or roundabout the same rzt?
Dirty Pony

Oh shit I've just checked. EastEnders had 9.5m 38.6% for the 13th September last year

That's a drop of 1.6 million.

Ouch for EE then but is anyone surprised? you only have to look around web forums like this to see the majority of viewers aren't happy with the quality. It was only a matter of time before it got reflected in the ratings.

Is EastEnders still on suicide watch? Or shall we wait until the next random moment it gets below 8 million to act as if the sky is falling?

Just kidding of course.

Hope EE keeps pulling in bad ratings. Its our only hope in getting a new producer in.

Over a million drop isn't good.

You think ratings being below average isn't a problem?

Take off the blinkers.

All soaps go through low ratings, doesn't really mean much, you can record, watch later on or on the Net a soap these day's.

Yep, especially when the repeats do pretty well too.

When EE can't pull in the big numbers for well publicized big events, then we have a problem. That's when its fans have simply given up and don't care.

The ratings are fine. People are still adjusting to getting back into routine. EastEnders has been time shifting very well this year though too.

What does this prove? that everyone on here who said it was an awful episode are wrong?

I mean they did actually sit through the episode as well you know so are included in that rating... there is your flaw.

Monday 19th September

18:30 - Hollyoaks: 1.6m (7.5%)
19:00 - Emmerdale: 7.3m (34.9%)
19:30 - Coronation Street: 9.0m (39.7%)
20.00 - EastEnders: 8.4m (35.2%)
20:30 - Coronation Street: 9.2m (37.5%)

Corrie nearly a million ahead of EE. Quite pleasing for them I'd imagine given how great Alison King was in these episodes.

Great to see the 9 million mark being reached again too.

I find it strange that Hollyoaks can get 1.46m for its teatime showing, and Neighbours 1.24m but Neighbours still has a higher percentage share. Odd! I think Neighbours is on at a strange time really.
