No!
That 8.1 rating you see for last night is the 7:30pm showing only. No repeats or other showings are added.

The BBC do release I player ratings at times but then thats just for I player and no other showings added to that.

The BBC does however count all ratings together in terms of TOTAL REACH but of course thats not added to any figure it's just a guideline to see how the show/shows are performing

For Example

EastEnders Live Pulled in 16million with just the 8:00pm slot
The BBC repeat pulled in another million or so.

Then there was the omnibus plus I player showings
and other recordings at a total reach of around 22million

The question was asked in the small hours of the morning - long before the Thursday ratings were released.

The exclamation mark was a bit of an overreaction and the assumption that the questioner was referring to the EE rating likewise.

Just like every other channel will do too. Why wouldn't they, particularly if they have access to stats from all the many ways programmes can be viewed. Not all of these figures will be released to the public, but the makers of the programmes will know exactly how many people are watching what.

Some of those soap shares are quite low- EE should be doing better than 32.6% and Corrie's 2nd episode is low too considering it's not even the full slot average. Also Neighbours only just scraped 1m which is very poor for this time of the year.

How longs it been since Corrie beat EE on a Friday night or is it quite a regular occurence?

I thought the much billed Ben kiss may have swung it for EE but I have to say Corrie deserved to win its been excellent this week.

Corrie usually beat EastEnders on a Friday, historically Corrie was always a fair amount of viewers ahead and it's only in the past 2-3 years that both soaps are closer and battle more regularly for the top spot each night.

Friday's and Monday's tend to always see Corrie ahead unless EastEnders has a big episode. Tuesday's are EastEnders' strong nights as are Thursdays which happens to be Corrie's weakest night.

Thank you for that answer.

Does Emmerdale have a trend to do better on one particularly weeknight than another?

As a general rule - Monday nights are usually ED's strongest, with Friday's being the poorest.
The thursday pm can also prove to be good ratings wise depending on the storyline, however the pm ep usually gets a lower share rating.

Does anyone know if River City in Scotland clashes schedule wise with any of the big three UK soaps?

It seems like the longer nights have started to up all the soaps ratings. Corrie is up by a million on some episodes last week. They are routinely beating EE now.

EastEnders should be getting higher ratings like that but Corrie has had a huge storyline. I expect people to be tuning in to EE more now as there are strong storylines building.
