You seriously expect Ben Mitchell to pull in the ratings?

Quite low for Emmerdale and eastenders is rather low too.

Both Edale and EE should not be below 8 mil come the end of September.

I can understand EE being low as I think people are genuinely bored of the show right now. I know from my own life that very few people I know are watching it at the moment because they think the quality is so low.

Both ED and EE have lost viewers lately. Just look how much complaining about both is on here. I'm not surprised ED is below 7 million, I along with others on here have actually stopped watching. People are also getting bored of EE apparently. Corrie is always beating EE these days, that never used to happen.

Yes it has.For sometime Corrie has been above EastEnders on most nights based on 'First Look' viewing.

makes No Differance really. It's not exactly freezing cold.
My Lord today is warmer then some of the days in August
The Football ITV1 clearly dented EastEnders and Holby city.
Holby is usually above 5 million.
Emmerdale seems to finish earlier when football is on too
I fully expect EastEnders & Emmerdale to recover

It's warm at the moment so people are probably doing other things and watching EastEnders on iPlayer/BBC3.

On the news just
They said how it's hot all over the UK and they said 'Even Scotland'
Just because it's september it doesn't mean the soaps will return to normal fully.

It's 27oc today and thats unusual (but not Unheard of) for the end of september.
Once we get the cold weather the ratings will change.

I expect Emmerdale finshed early which would have bought it's rating down and of course EastEnders & Holby were against the football on ITV1

Excuses excuses excuses.

Corrie got over 9 million just two days ago.

Its hardly light at 19.30 anymore and it isn't the summer holidays anymore.

Also is see the 8:30pm (the later slot) rated better than that of 7:30

Was there not?
I dunno i was at work but assumed there was.
I expect there was some of Sky though wasn't there?

I think the last few Tuesdays has been EastEnders worst rated night (other than Friday)

I don't think ITV had football on last night did they?

Excuses are just being made because EE underperformed but its hardly surprising its ratings keep having huge dips is it given the majority of people online are being very vocal about the state the show is in.

Emmerdale never gets over 8m unless its a big episode. Eastenders might look low but over 7m is fantastic for this day and age.

Not at all.
How do you explain the ratings not been 'That Much' lower than the end of Sept 09 or the fact that Mondays Enders was over 8 million or the fact that Enders beat Corrie by quite some on Thursday (when they are usually quite close)

Holby City was also down so how do you explain that one?

You can't throw in figures to try and prove anything. Not when Corrie managed to get over 9 million on Monday.

If EastEnders was strong enough it would be able to stay above 8 million.

Fact is it can't and is dipping/rising on average anything from 1 to 2 million an epsiode.

This indicates its audience at the moment isn't stable and the BBC will be questioning why as its never been so up/down every other day on this scale before.

Will corrie pull in 9m on Thurs and Fri?
Doubt it....Mondays have always been their strong night and im looking at old figures from 2009/2010 and it seems roughly the same as last night with Corrie over (or close to) 9million and EastEnders just over 8m (or just under)

As for the figures thing.Read a bif of the way back in this thread and old Figures of 2009/2010 were posted everytime Corrie was over EastEnders

All Soaps dip and rise though. Last Monday Corrie 9.0m and 9.2m. Then on Thursday it had 7.68 so that's a drop of over 1m

But again this proves nothing.

That's because the Thursday episode of Corrie has never worked in that slot and all long term members have discussed that before in detail. Hence why so many are thrilled its moving back to Wednesday next year.
