I agree this hysteria over EE dropping to below 9m on one night is quite ridiculous, I can't see Corrie breaking 9m tonight, given that some ratings across the board seem to be down on last week's figures.

Of course it is.
Had EastEnders fallen to 7million with out clashing with another soap or a big event then we might be having a problem but just under 9million is nothing major

The 8.8m for EastEnders is JUST for the 7:30pm showing.
The BBC 3 repeat is NOT added with the main showing.
EastEnders ratings are reported because not only is it their only repeat (apart from the omnibus on sundays of course) but it never really falls below 500,00 and can go to highs of 1.8m and is quite often the most watched mulitchannel rating of the day.

Just a quick question does the BBC 3 repeat include the showing on BBC HD also which airs at 10:00pm?

Corrie and Emmerdale repeats rate less and there more of them too

It means nothing.
Anumber of things could have affected Tuesdays rating for example 2 football matches (1 on BBC2 and 1 on Sky)

And EastEnders started at 7:28 and finished at 7:57 so that would have dented it also but still just under 9 million is nothing massive

Good to see Coronation Street doing so well/

Emmerdale not doing to well, shedding viewers- do you think this is because of declining quality?

I don't see anything wrong with 8m and a 35% audience share. Good to see that Corrie is still above the 10m mark heading into February.

Great ratings for all the soaps.

EastEnders up on last week and Emmerdale and Coronation Street doing well.

EastEnders is getting much better now and the ratings prove it as they are still strong.

EastEnders will be dented tommorow.
The BBC Didn't even promote the fact they will be having a very rare Wednesday episode of EastEnders

EastEnders up on Last Tuesday and the BBC 3 repeat rating is quite good too.
I guess it was the Football that dented EastEnders last week.

I expect 8m or lower for tonights unusual Wednesday EastEnders given the BBC didn't even give it a mention

Neighbours creeping up again towards the 2.5m mark when accumulated. Highest ratings since before Christmas. I think Friday's episode and the beginning of next week should see the ratings licking the 3m ceiling again which would be good.

Decent for EE considering the slot-about the same as how Corrie performs when it gets a Wednesday 7.30pm slot now and again. Also another solid figure and 35% share for Emmerdale, which seems to be becoming the norm.
