Out of interest what did Vera and Mike's death get? anyone know.

Although the live episode is the main feature of the 50th Anniversary week, I think the ratings will increase as the week goes on. Remember, as well as the tram crash, we have a wedding and a murder. Hopefully the ratings and press attention will increase during the week, and the Live Episode could possible reach 19-20m. EE Live was on a Friday so ran the risk of people going out etc, whereas although the Corrie slot is on a Thursday, if enough press attention is given to it, then it should do quite well.

The Thursday time slot has only become obviously weaker now that Monday episodes have started breaking the 10m barrier. For example in June for the delayed Siege Week and Gail's trial, the Thursday episode held up just as well as Monday and Friday and beat EE.

I remember Vera's death getting 12.5m overnight and then going up to 13m when consolidated. I think Mike Baldwin got around 12m-13m too.

I think people are bigging up Corrie's anniversary week too much. Yes it will do really well, but I seriously doubt it will get anywhere near 19-20m. I predict it will get 13m-16m at best.

With regards to press attention, it has to contend with X Factor and Strictly taking the lions share of attention.

You're forgetting, Corrie is on ITV, X Factor is on ITV...don't you think they will use one to promote the other?

XF and Corrie are two totally different shows so I don't see what relevance they have to each other and in what way XF can be used as a marketing tool for Corrie.

I do think ITV will push for Corrie Live to be more promoted than XF for that week however. The only obstacle to this is that it will be nearing the XF final and Cowell won't give up the column inches without a fight.

Good ratings for EastEnders again.

Just after seeing the ratings for Monday night. 11.6million...amazing figure for Corrie last night, totally deserved. Jack's exit was both beautiful and dignified, a fitting tribute to an absolute legend. Emmerdale is powerhouse at the moment 8.2 for Monday and 7.4 for Tuesday...well done guys!!
Hollyoaks on the other hand is disappointing, should be getting nearer the 2 million mark for such a big week

I can't believe people think those Corrie ratings for monday are good. Seriously only a million more than normal? well I suppose you could say four million if we count Thursday and Friday but for a Monday it was hardly up!

Brilliant for EE again last night. Not one Tuesday for weeks has been below 9 million.

Say what you like about EE but its the only consistant soap in regards to its ratings.

Nothing wrong with 11.6m, quite a substantial figure

It was Corrie's highest overnight rating of the year so far! I'd say that's a massive achievement!

Corrie will be heavily promoted during the XF commercial breaks

I'm going to be a very sarcastic person here:-

Oh yes Eastenders was the best soap ever this week. Corrie and Emmerdale did OK I suppose, but not as good as EE! They get REGULAR high ratings even when it's against Emmerdale - and if its low ratings it's because of the weather or changing the clocks back!

EE does well, yes. Personally I don't really watch it - but what is this 'possession' that fans have over it to protect it if it gets beaten now and again (more oft than not). It's not going anywhere, it wont be axed - panic not!

I can't see Corrie getting 19m but still they can try and beat EastEnders but they probably wount.

thank you rzt. Neighbours held up very well and so did the Farewell Jack too.

Brilliant ratings for Farewell Jack, I only expected it to draw 4m - Perhaps proof to ITV that Corrie belongs on Wednesday?

Excellent for Farewell Jack. I was expecting about 5m, so it was way higher than my expectations. Will be interesting if Corrie managed to hold up tonight. Solid as usual for Emmerdale.

Like they needed proof. Worst thing they ever did moving it from Wednesday nights.

Thursday 11th November Overnights (ex HD)

19:00 - Emmerdale: 7.4m
19:30 - EastEnders: 9.5m
20:00 - Emmerdale: 7.3m
20:30 Coronation Street: 8.1m

From Mike Teevee on The Ratings Thread.

Very strong for EastEnders, poor for Coronation Street though after Monday's performance. Even with HD included it will be a long way behind EastEnders.

Brilliant for EE again. Every episode above 9 million this week. Top stuff. Corrie as usual has dropped loads since Monday. The 3 day gap is too long.

Strong ratings for EastEnders.

9,5m up 400,000 from tuesday.

I think it's going great at the moment.

A drop of 3million for Coronation Street is not good.

It's not unusual for a soap to drop a few million from a big episode
