Fine ratings all round, although thought EE would be higher considering it was a big episode.

People seem to forget how consistently Doctors rates above any other soap. While the big three may often fluctuate wildly over the course of a normal week, Doctors nearly always rates in the 1.5-2m bracket, quite impressive really.

Why was Corrie's 2nd ep so low last night?

cause the bbc had a special news report on japan and also ee was a 35 min ep which was a tad naughty, but also viewers are perhaps a bit fed up of the sophie storyline in corrie.

there seems to be a trend of friday nights dipping a little with the soaps, perhaps we have had enough by friday. friday could be a soap free zone perhaps?

The BBC didn't promote the episode and infact other then the baby swap EastEnders is the only soap in the big 3 that has had no promotion this year

Doctors out does the other soaps on quality too.
For a Daytime soap they sure show some gritty stuff
the 4th most rated soap and This Morning are now to cover Doctors on their soap box

EastEnders often has these 35/40 mins episodes and always have done.
Last night they didn't want to cut anything out so made it 35 mins.
ITV once of twice have moved corrie to 8:35pm to avoid any clash.
It was obvious the BBC would have a News Special (Ch 4 also did) and 8:35pm seemed the best place for it

EastEnders has rated about the same all week (apart from Monday) so it's been very consistent however it was never EastEnders most watched episode of the week and also soaps will fall now as it's getting lighter and warmer

I caught it by chance back in 2003 and i've been recording it ever since.
The acting, drama and writing are just brilliant and i think it does comedy really well too

Haha. i'm just imagining your reaction if Corrie showed a 35 minute episode on the 7.30 showing. I bet it wouldn't be so understanding

Corrie used to quite often finish past 8:00pm on Fridays and Mondays cutting throught EastEnders anyway.

as I have said EastEnders quite often has had 35/40 mins episodes over the years so it's not really a new thing

About 11 million people saw EastEnders' mini 10-minute episode last night. The ITV soaps dented by Comic Relief, although Emmerdale held up better than two years ago.

Was it just a one-off H&A getting 486k at 1.15pm one day? It seems like a random boost, what could have caused it?

Brilliant. EE really is the best at the moment. Fantastic return to form these past few weeks and April looks fantastic with Ann Mitchell joining.

I think it's a bit dodgy to claim that EE pulled in 11 million viewers to be honest. I think many of those viewers would have been watching the bulk of the telethon anyway and would not have tuned in solely for Eastenders
