Bit low for Emmerdale last night but decent enough share.

Lovely weather is behind it.

Terrific share for EastEnders yesterday - its highest in 3 months. It's been a strong week for EastEnders and hopefully some of the casual viewers will stick around for the next few months as we head towards summer. It also posted one of its highest rated BBC3 ratings ever. Good shares for Emmerdale and Home & Away too - its very rare that H&A is above 6% these days. Poor for Hollyoaks - C4 better be hoping the forecasts about this summer being a washout are correct otherwise there'll be some dismal ratings for the show during June/July.”

Brilliant for EastEnders once again.
The show really is doing well and given the fact it gets alot of younger viewers and it's Easter Holidays and we are in the middle of an unusual April Heatwave im actually surpised the ratings are this high.

The show really is on top form right now and surely that 43% share and the 7% for BBC 3 must be their biggest in a whille?

Emmerdale seems to be holding up well but sadly i find the show quite dull right now with all the Kelly/Jimmy rubbish.

Doctors and the Aus soap seem to be affected alot by the warm weather.

Who is this '2011 is good' poster?
I mean im an EastEnders fan (as im sure your all aware) but my god the thread has been taken over by their posts

Emmerdale starting to face dips...reflection on quality as much as weather I'd imagine...it's not been on fire since...well it was on fire.

Shares are healthy enough though I suppose, all things considered

DS has reported the soaps as

EastEnders - 7.32m (39.2%)

Corrie - 7.14m (33.8%)

Emmerdale - 5.91m (35.7%)

Hollyoaks - 710k (4.7%)

So brilliant share for EE. Corrie a bit low on that side of things.

Hollyoaks ratings are so bad....

Awful soap ratings last night, although EE's audience is quite impressive as is ED's first. It's not surprising given the glorious weather we're having at the moment. I'm assuming that these are the lowest figures so far this year for the big four?

bad night for the soaps last night, do you think it's because people are going out more due to being off at school and work? I've missed most of the soaps the past weeks due to being out when they're on, and usually just catch up on itv player and bbc iplayer

Other Ratings

Thursday 21st April

Doctors -1.1m (18.2%)
Neighbours-650k (10.7%) & 1.14m (10.2%) at 5:30
Home And Away-646k (4.8%) at 6:00pm
EastEnders (BBC3)-1.11m (5.6%)
Emmerdale 8:00pm- 6.25m (32.6%)

Clearly the Easter Holidays getaway started yesterday.
Many people finished work and with the hot weather we are getting at the moment it seems alot of people are going away.

Thats Doctors lowest rating in years and clearly the weather has affected that alongside Neighbours and Home and away

EastEnders share proves that less people were watching TV last night and the 38% share is brilliant and the rating wasn't too bad
Corrie didn't do too bad and Emmerdale at 8:00pm pulled in some extra viewers from 7:00pm.

Another Brilliant BBC3 repeat for EastEnders there.

Tonight i fully expect Corrie to be above EastEnders as now i think the weather/holidays will affect EastEnders abit

There's No Doctors and Neighbours and Home and away are earlier this luchtime (1:00pm&1:30pm) so they could be dented a bit too

The past week or so EastEnders had been over 9million (10million at times) and Corrie didn't do too bad but it seems that now People are also off work for the Easter the soaps will be affected.
I expect the ratings to pick up next week as the kids go back to school but i fully expect a low day for the soaps on Friday due to the Royal Wedding (Maybe Bar Emmerdale,EastEnders,Corrie)

The holiday weekend really hitting the soaps.

Corrie below 7 million

Hollyoaks will just not be on air in a year if its ratings continue like that.

Not too worrying if you think about it logically for Corrie and EE. both still had impressive shares which just shows that a lot less people were watching television on Good Friday; not a lot of people were switching off of EE and Corrie.

Hollyoaks: 644k (4.0%) just on Channel 4

Its second lowest ever 6:30pm rating, slightly ahead of an episode last year which had 640k (4.3%) on 4th June, although yesterday's share was lower.

37.7% and 31.5% shares for Corrie aren't impressive. They're usually higher than that, especially the 8:30pm episode share.

OMG Corrie below 8 million, I am shocked! EastEnders hasn't been good in ages so I can understand the results...

Strange that coming from a corrie fan.
EastEnders had been on fine form this past few weeks (as Many agree) and ratings have shown.
EastEnders has managed to beat Corrie on every showing since last Thursday.

That has to be one of the first good fridays (Bar Tanya burying max)that EastEnders has come out on top of both corries?

Quite a few parts of the north had rain and Thunderstorms yesterday whille many parts of the south Missed out (as usual)
So im very surpised.

What did Enders get on BBC3?

That Must be Emmerdales Lowest rating and one of corrie's lowest ratings of 2011 so far is it not?

On Fri 8 Apr it was lower at 5.82m

Although it is it's 3rd sub 6m rating of the year.

I think thats what it usually gets in the summer anyway so i guess a Heatwave in April is kinda the same thing.

This week Doctors(lowest since 2001),Neighbours,Hollyoaks,Home and away (ithink) have reached all time lows

It was very consistent during Apr & May last year - and it wasn't really until the world cup coverage started that it fell back.
It's been a bit more volatile ratings wise at the moment - although it's average is holding, especially the share.

April last year we had bad snow and was still very cold so you can't really compare it.
We don't usually get this amount of hot weather in the months of March/April as a rule

Awful rating for Corrie last night and there's not really any excuses considering the shares are bad. The episodes were good too. Emmerdale posts another sub 6m rating, but the shares are still ok so nothing to worry about there.

EE's share is very average, but the raw figure held up ok. IMO it was showing signs of the dross it had been producing a few weeks ago-and we were so close to having two whole weeks of excellent episodes, shame last nights let it down.

Dire for Hollyoaks-how long can it go on for? There was a patch over Christmas where ratings were starting to pick up to around 1.3m (still not great), but they've fallen back below the 1m mark again. IMO the share should be nearer ~7% too, not 4%!
