Take That have praised X Factor finalists One Direction, saying that the teenage group remind them of their younger selves.
Gary Barlow admitted that he enjoys watching Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik on the ITV show and told Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills.
“They look like us when we started. They are quite good actually.
“We’re here to be replaced. There is always a younger, faster, better model.”
Robbie Williams added: “They’re really cute. Five Mark Owens. I saw the first week’, he said. ‘They’re sweethearts. They’re lovely.”
One Direction would be lucky to be half as successful as Take That.
The band announced dates for their 2011 UK tour earlier this week and so many fans tried to get tickets when they were released this morning, that most of the sellers’ websites subsequently crashed.
