Many of the posters on DS have become quite savvy in recent years, so I'm wondering if any of them actually support the SyCo machine and vote. My last vote was for Will Young and I'm thinking there was probably some Simon manipulation in that as well.

My reason for asking is that it doesn't quite make sense if people realise how those who are voting are being manipulated in the whole sham, but I fear that some of us still pick up that phone and boost SyCo's profits.

I voted 4 times for Treyc last week.

Definately, if I think someone deserves it, and not necessarily the same one each week. I decide on the day who I think was best.

I voted a few times last year. I will wait and see if my two favourite look like they need me to vote, but highly unlikely for one of them.

I vote if there is someone I really want to win. i don't care that the money goes to Syco any more than I care that my money goes to the CocaCola company when I buy my diet coke - its business are we are consumers its the way capitalism works. The winner gets a shot and if there is someone who is extraordinarily talented and hasn't had the opportunity to showcase that then I am very happy to spend my money on that. If not I don't bother.

In my house each person gets one vote for whoever they want each week. E.g last week

My mum normally votes Aiden
My dad votes Aiden
My sister votes Cher
I vote Katie (because cher was covered already)

....but it changes each week

Last year I voted a lot for Danyl and decided I'd never vote again and I'm sticking to it.

Same here never voted until last year and I voted for Danyl because IMO he was the best and had all the crap thrown at him. I said I would never vote ever again but my word is no good and this year I'm supporting Matt who I think is awesome
