Or So Solid Cun*ts as i like to call them. First of all, i'd like to point out to them, that this is NOT America, and they have NOTgrown up in the bronx! I saw an interview with them earlier and could not stop laughing. "We base our music on the gang culture society we live in" LMAO!! Seriously though, groups like this promote violence within society, wouldn't you agree? Especially when you get 14-15 kids going around talking about this group as if they were the best thing since sliced bread. Musically, i do think they are quite talented, and actually have their latest, err, MP3.

What does everyone else reckon to them ??

I like rap, but they take the p*ss.

Their latest song is a pile of steaming shi*e and 21 seconds was ok the first time you heard it, but every radio sation and music channel insisted on playing it 500 times a day (especially radio1).

According to midweek sales, their latest song is to enter at number 2, while last nite by the strokes is to enter at number 10.

Whatsupwitdat?!?!?!?!

Perhaps the reason is that the Strokes are,in your own words and mine,a pile of hot steaming shite.

Definitely agree with you mostly SuperNova...
they are utter idiots... they parade themselves around and actually pride themselves in being hard boys...

they are little knockers that should know better... childish and will be nowhere in a few months...

I'd love to put them all in a coach and connect a hose pipe to the exhaust, put it in throught the window and rev the engine for a few hours....

Loaded with gats, not in Britain my lads... grow up.

the structure to their music is poor at best, there flow is terrible and the rhyming skills...... sorry... what rhyming skills?

And has anyone noticed how much Kaish (the one that does the bit about "did you see me in the video oh no!" ) advocates his saving?

They don't know about my dough
I just sit back and let it grow...

and if i remember rightly he does it on the new Oxide and Neutrino track (Rap Dis) too

Mc Harvey is the best, and he ain't that hot either.

I can just about tolerate listening to one of their 'songs' when the girl sings, unlike the blokes, who you need a dictionary in 'yoof' speak to understand them.

The act like they were brought up in the ghetto! They come from South London. There is no ghetto or anything remotly like it in South London.

Been there have we?
London's gotta a lot of gun/drug related crime, more than you think. It may not be as bad as New York/LA but it aint exactly all sunshine 'n' roses. Yardie gangs, triads etc. It's been on the London News FFS! A lot of sh!t happens in London that would never happen in Mansfield.

Anyway, personally I don't think So Solid Crew really represent what my view of garage music is. They're tunes really don't impress me. It seems like at the moment they're the only people representing garage and believe me there are a lot of garage tunes out there that are a million times better than what So Solid have produced and those tunes do garage music justice (Todd Edwards is an excellent example of a quality "4 to da floor" garage tune producer). IMO, I think it's the DJs that make garage music what it is. You only have to listen to the likes of EZ (my favourite garage DJ, best garage mixer ever ), Norris "Da Boss" Windross, Materstepz etc. to understand. They play a lot of the more quality garage.

You mean Brixton right? Not the whole of London is like Brixton. Mansfield is rougher than you think. I've been down there a few times on a Friday and Saturday nights and seen lots of shocking stuff.

Although Brixton(been there) is a bit of a nutty area, i wouldn't say it was the most dangerous place in the UK. Some places in Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow are a lot more intimerdating than Brixton.

The fact is that SSC are glamourising violence and exaggerating their experience of it to sell records(just look at their videos), and many young people are falling for it.

I think they should send SSC to Afghanistan where there's real war going off, and then see if they still act like hard men. LOL they would be crapping their pants. Idiots.

My area of Mansfield is alright, no trouble here, but I wouldnt dare go down Ravensdale after dark (and I'm wary before dark as well).

As someone who lives in south London, I feel safe in my area, but in parts of Hastings and St-Leonards where I used to live, I've been mugged more times than in London where it only happened once.

Been to Liverpool have you? I live quite near to Liverpool, and have never felt intimidated when I've been there. Liverpool has changed, a HELL of a lot since the 80's. I've never felt un-safe there. Most of the people in Liverpool are very friendly, non-violent people. Just because they speak with an accent that can make them sound rough, it doesn't mean they are, its just the way they speak. Why do so many southerners think Liverpool is so bad, when most of them have never been there.

The crime rate for Liverpool speaks for itself.

Believe me, i have people i know in Liverpool and when they have visited Newcastle they cant believe how much better life is up here.

In terms of:

Night Life
Friendliness of people
Tidyness and appearance of city centre
How safe they felt walking round the streets at night
and even the xmas lights were better up here!
Liverpools crime rate is a disgrace and really does speak volumes bout the place. Also it is rated 9th worst place to live in the country on AOL. If you have AOL go to Keyword: WELCOME and click on Top 10 List in the top right corner.

I don't think it has a compariteveley highe crime rate does it, I thought it was quite low nowadays, and as for Newcastle, haha, don't make me laugh. As for me I like in South Wirral, almost, (2 mins away) from Cheshire, so no I don't live in Liverpool, it is about a 40 minute drive away from me on the motorway, but I just don't get why all the southerners slag it off so much, I don't love the place, I can think of far nicer places but its not half as bad as most of u think.

So Solid Crew were due to do a gig at the Corn Exchange here in Cambridge the other week, however the local council, in consultation with the local police, cancelled it due to the "chance of gang related violence and civil disorder".

Glad to see some quality control being exercised then!!!

Anyone who samples the Casualty theme tune for a 'dance' record, must be a casualty case
