Well, they disappeared into the toilets at Movida in Argyll Street for half an hour after meeting her just 10 minutes before, then they and a group went to a party at his place in the country. So just a "1 nighter". Know what you mean though.

The twice that I've met him on a totally accidental social basis he was a right tw*t, who nearly got seriously hurt because of his mouth. He's a very brave boy when he's got private security at his table.

Was he wearing his hat? Or has he given that up as his trademark?

No he wasn't. Maybe he was in disguise as no one knew who he was without it.

SINGER Jay Kay launched an amazing foul-mouthed rant against X Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole as he prepared to perform on the show.
Bite the hand that feeds you. If he feels so strongly why is he doing it?!

That's a rhetorical question btw.

Be interesting to see if the girls give him a standing ovation after his performance, or if they'll stay sat shooting him evils.

He's a knob.

He does have a point. Before X Factor Dannii's career was flatlining and Cheryl was (at best) the third best singer in Girls Aloud and was more famous for being a WAG. Neither had a long list of musical achievements that could justify their role as a judge. Neither had an amazing career like Madonna or an amazing voice like Mariah Carey, but now we are supposed to forget that and treat them as music and fashion icons which they clearly are not.

Hey, if an artist see's a chance to get some great promotion, they'll take it.

Even if they can't stand it.
There's no need for him to go on the show if he doesn't want to. There are other ways of promoting his single (airplay on music channels, appearing on some of the many chat/interview shows, radio 1 & 2.....). I'd have more time for his comments if he wasn't actually appearing on X-Factor. As it is, he comes across as a hypocrite and a complete t*sser!

People were commenting yesterday that Better The Devil You Know isn't a well known song. Ditto Stay. I guess my pension book is on its way.

I couldn't agree more! He has made himself look a total arse. Not that he needed to try very hard anyway. Hope his performance tonight is met with a deathly hush. Please no standing ovation!

Jam-ear-row-kwai is how I say it.

Seems like an odd booking for X Factor, doesn't it?

"One of the world's biggest selling acts of the late 90s. Their videos have also earned numerous accolades. Sold 7m copies of 1996 album Travelling Without Moving."

New album out Nov 1st.

Yes. I'm serious. I have to spend the rest of the weekend contemplating my existence on DS. I think I am past it.

I feel like Grizabella. Memories.

Nevertheless it's the height of bad manners to verbally abuse someone that you are going to sing in front of

Yep because someone who has sold 35 million albums never was were they? 7 albums realeased in the UK and the lowest chart placing number 3, what a flop. Don't be ridiculous. You may not like him but to say he's a nobody who never was is just a joke.

I actually knew Jay back in the very early days because a good friend of mine was the first person to sign him. He certainly had something very special about him and was obviously passionate about his music.
My friend was the first person to sign him to release a single and he still says Jay was the most talented artist he's ever worked with.

I last saw him about 3 years ago at a gig (not his) and he was great. Still the same guy and not a rude, arrogant person at all. Plus, he's not wrong about most of that 'rant' (which almost certainly never happened)

theres a pretty simple explanation to this.. you've gotta look at JayKay as a musician, he's worked hard in the music industry, he's gone from the very bottom to the very top.. and never once screwed over his fans with overpriced tickets etc.. infact, at the height of his success he still played in bars etc, apparently because he liked to feel a connection with the audience,
also you can't knock the guy musically, he has an awesome voice,

when you look at his comments, he has got a very valid point.. what have they done musically?? Chavyl Cole won't/can't sing live... and Dannii Minogue is only there because of Kylie.. and yet he's got to sing infront of them as if he has to prove himself worthy of being a recording artist.. it is a little baffling.. why are they sat there? .. surely they should be backstage with their acts??

as has been mentioned previously, because he's signed with Sony, they will have asked him to do the show for promotion.. i really don't think this kind of thing would be JayKays first choice..lol

Spot on.

How ridiculous for someone like Jay to see Cher being called unique and original by Cowell when someone like Jay really is those things and more. Cowell wouldn't know unique, original, fresh and relevent if they jumped up and smacked hum in the face.

Jay has lasted for 18 years, lets' see if any of this bunch last 18 months
