Jamiroquai were fantastic. I always wondered where they went....great to see Jay Kay back at last.

As for the supposed rant - who was the source exactly? Seems like a strange kinda random outburst from nowhere...

Spot on.

How ridiculous for someone like Jay to see Cher being called unique and original by Cowell when someone like Jay really is those things and more. Cowell wouldn't know unique, original, fresh and relevent if they jumped up and smacked hum in the face.
No that's true, but (a) no need to be so potty mouthed about it, and (b) if he feels that strongly then he shouldn't lower himself to appear on XF.

Yep because someone who has sold 35 million albums never was were they? 7 albums realeased in the UK and the lowest chart placing number 3, what a flop. Don't be ridiculous. You may not like him but to say he's a nobody who never was is just a joke.

I actually knew Jay back in the very early days because a good friend of mine was the first person to sign him. He certainly had something very special about him and was obviously passionate about his music.
My friend was the first person to sign him to release a single and he still says Jay was the most talented artist he's ever worked with.

I last saw him about 3 years ago at a gig (not his) and he was great. Still the same guy and not a rude, arrogant person at all. Plus, he's not wrong about most of that 'rant' (which almost certainly never happened)

Well that's me told Fair enough, he's sold a lot of records. From all I've read and heard about him in the past though (obviously I don't know the dude personally) I still think he's an arse. I just don't get how we are supposed to take him seriously when he performs on a show he obviously thinks is the pits! Because he's been "told to" by his record company? If he's so marvellous and thinks so little of XF (and if so, presumably the XF target audience are not HIS target audience) why didn't he just refuse?!

On the other hand, this is The Sun. Pinch of salt and all that ...

theres a pretty simple explanation to this.. you've gotta look at JayKay as a musician, he's worked hard in the music industry, he's gone from the very bottom to the very top.. and never once screwed over his fans with overpriced tickets etc.. infact, at the height of his success he still played in bars etc, apparently because he liked to feel a connection with the audience,
also you can't knock the guy musically, he has an awesome voice,

when you look at his comments, he has got a very valid point.. what have they done musically?? Chavyl Cole won't/can't sing live... and Dannii Minogue is only there because of Kylie.. and yet he's got to sing infront of them as if he has to prove himself worthy of being a recording artist.. it is a little baffling.. why are they sat there? .. surely they should be backstage with their acts??

as has been mentioned previously, because he's signed with Sony, they will have asked him to do the show for promotion.. i really don't think this kind of thing would be JayKays first choice..lol
There's no excuse for that rant. I don't care if Jay Kay is a 'respectable musician'. That doesn't give him an excuse to act like a prize kn*b! If anything, his behavior is detrimental to his cause. Far better to be intelligent and articulate in his comments (and refuse to appear on X-Factor).

I'm not sure green is his colour

Dannii is so right when she says she's the XF punchbag even if he goes after Cheryl as well here.

That is exactly what I was thinking. They don't mention a source close to the singer, an x factor worker etc etc like they normally would. No mention of source at all

Nevertheless it's the height of bad manners to verbally abuse someone that you are going to sing in front of
How positively Victorian!

I find it rather sad that articulate posting is considered old fashioned.

He's a hypocrite pure and simple and just because he classes himself as a "serious musician", doesn't mean others classs him as one?

what a dick- who is he to decide what kind of music is the "proper" kind and I can't believe he has the audacity to try and plug his new album on the xfactor while having a go at the 2 female judges

he is a pathetic, arrogant tosser and I've seen some things in my life but going on a show to promote your music and then having a pop at it just beggars belief

Not all. My comment was more on the self-righteous outrage at Jay Kay's comment. As though he is some sort of medieval virgin who has unwittingly flashed an ankle to a gentleman caller.

We don't need 3 acts in one night. Any chance they could use this as an excuse and just drop him from the line-up? I have no idea how he has found himself on the show. Ridiculous booking - nobody cares about this guy anymore and yet he's openly criticising the show just before he goes on it?

I agree. Suppose he's not too proud to take the big fat fee for doing x factor to fund his fast cars and cocaine habit.

Nice!
He's an old has-been that never was anyway. Idiot.
He most definitely was.

Whether he still is is up for debate. Hell of a voice on him though and he's forgotten more about music than the X Factor judges put together will ever know.

I won't argue with your last word though.
