Even though I think it's pathetic that the group performance is mimed when the judges still insist it's a 'singing contest' (I think most people have realised it isn't by now), you can see who has a good recording voice.
For example, I wasn't too bothered about Rebecca before the live shows, and didn't like Aiden at all, but I've loved how their voices have sounded on the mimed stuff. Obviously that's how they'd sound when recorded, so it's changed my perception of them and whether I'd buy their music.

Who do you think sounds the best on the mimed performances?

Well Katie sounds a lot better,that could be down to Autotune though.

Mary sounds a lot worse on a studio recording.

I agree about Rebecca! Bores me to tears live but amazing recorded!

I love Aiden both ways

Aiden sounded really good on Telephone. Katie's vocals are obviously autotuned to death. Paije sounds great too and Rebecca aswell.The rest are just OK.

Yeah, Katie sounds a bit better. I think Mary and Matt both sound quite bad recorded.


Aiden's my favourite now, but I didn't like him before the lives. Became my favourite after his part of Telephone in the week 2 results Don't want him to win though; Simon would give him crap material.

I only started liking Aiden after Jealous Guy! Oh and after my friend met him and put him on the phone to me

I do want him to win just because I'm all caught up in it now but if he doesn't it'll probably work out for the best!

I'm glad someone else liked that performance. Aiden got a lot of stick for it but I think it was in the top three of that week.

I think the group performance would be live if such a thing wasn't an absolute nightmare for whoever is doing the mixing.

And it is just a bit of fun. I don't think they have time to do their own rehearsals plus rehearsals for a live group performance as well.
