Its really irritating that a guy as talented as Matt, is grabbing cheap headlines over who he is, or isnt dating! Its becoming tedious.

I understand the favirote is bound to get attention from the press and in Matts case i do think it is unwanted attention. But the relationship speculation is getting seriously repetitive, and starting to over shadow one of the show's unique singers. Its become the focus with him in the press instead of his brilliant performances.

I wont lie, Matt is my favirote and i couldnt care less who he is or isnt dating. Matt isnt 17, so i think its safe to assume his fan base doesnt revolve around the teenage vote where his relationship status could matter. I mean i doubt his fans will be crying themselves to sleep if he isnt "single" like they would say with a member of One Direction! So why even bother clarifying anything to the press? All it achieve's imo, is adding fuel to a story that wouldnt hold any water with no direct quotes. His Ex Laura makes a passing comment theyre on good terms and now we have him feeling the need to voice theyre not together... You know just in case any of his fans abandoned him for a single contestant. Its getting annoying, and kind of patronising to think he's been advised (if the stories are true) that his relationship status would dictate his chances of winning, over his actual talent and singing ability!

But with the post, I agree, I honestly don't care if he's dating the girl Lindsey? Lauren? I forget. It's not going to affect his vocals, like spraining an ankle does.
