Does anybody know if there is a way of being able to transfer the text messages from a Nokia 6300 to a HTC handset?

I have had my Nokia 6300 for 3 years now, and am looking at either the HTC Wildfire or the Desire, undecided as yet.

I would like to be able to transfer my text messages and my contacts to the new handset.

Any advice would be appreciated.

i believe the nokia SMS backup file is in XML format, this should be readable from your SD card with SMS backup in the Android market.


EDIT: Yes it is, this guide is using Linux, but the princible is the same using nokia software on your PC
