Sorry if this has been mentioned, but it has been bugging me since last night. I just can't see an AT danced to meatloaf's bat out of hell, it seems to fast. What do others think?

it's too fast and the sentiment is totally wrong!!!

Ridiculous if you ask me.

Could have made a half decent paso but I can't see it as an AT, hope they prove me wrong.

I can't see it working either, doesn't seem like the right 'mood' for the Argentine Tango

Hope they prove me wrong though!

The At is my favourite dance of all, closely followed by the Paso. Matt is one of my top favs this year, but with the music (Horrible!) and what we have seen of Aliona choreography I am not at all optimistic for tonight.

This could be even worse than Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas dancing the AT to the Brady Bunch theme.

You're right. Flo and Corky's debacle was terrible to watch

Judging from the training excerpts Matt doesn't understand AT at all, and we know Aliona cannot choreograph to save her life, so the completely stupid, unsuitable and plain silly choice of music is the final nail on the coffin of this AT.

Happily, I will be out watching the real thing danced by 12 brilliant Argentine dancers from BA and with a real tango orchestra playing and not Dave Arch!

SCD will be recorded and watched on fast forward sometime tomorrow. I dare say, I'll FF through Matt and Aliona's appalling demo.

I absolutely love the song, but must admit, I can't see how an AT is going to work with it.

I've been listening to the song on repeat for ages now and I can (just about) see how it can work.

Its a really long song so obviously it'll only be part of the song thats used and it could also be slowed down a little bit.
As for 'the sentiment' I'm hoping that will be provided by the dance. The words are a bit on the dark side but most people will be studying the dancing rather than the lyrics so shouldn't be a problem.

I've nearly convinced myself! Good Luck Matt & Aliona!!!

It's a fab song but I just don't see how it fits an AT.
It's going to be typical Aliona. Breakneck speed with no light & shade.

Yeah it sounds typical Aliona to me!

Fabulous and entertaining and top of the leader board again.

I LOVE IT!!!!

Most of tonight's music is a bit

Needless nonsense tonight .I am a total Halloween killjoy.
Trick or treat is simply demanding money with menaces as far as I am concerned and the whole celebration as it has been imported from across the water , can go back and stay there .
It's a horrible night for elderly people on their own and also for those who feel they don't want to supply free sweets to the neighbourhood .
Parents who would normally be worried silly if their children were asking for treats from strangers , happily let them go out accosting strangers and threatening them with dire consequences if they don't give them sweets.
Unbelievable.

Yes, I think it's a great song too - but totally agree with your summation of the Aliona approach CC!

Glad I'm not watching, but you better post your view in our NA thread and tell me what you think!

Totally agree. It's a load of pants frankly! Another big commercial rip off. I'm going out to sit in a theatre and watch real tango instead. The local brats can ring my doorbell until they're blue in the face............

Does anyone realise it's derived from a pagan festival and not the US of A?

I agree.

This week DWTS used all rock music, and for me it was completely detrimental to the dancing. I have a feeling that tonight's hallowene "monster-mash" type music on scd might have a similar affect.

My sentiments exactly. A lot of the music choices seem inappropriate, but the Meatloaf Argentine Tango takes the biscuit.

Yes sofakat , I do .The USA just sort of took and ran with it as only they can .
Both Oct31st l, All Hallow's Eve and Nov 1st, All Saints ( hallows) Day are also very important days in the church calender, but not in the current Halloween format !!!
Nov 1st is a public holiday in span and it's a day for visiting the graves of loved ones ; hugely important .Cemeteries have bands and bunting and the flower shops do massive business.

Pah and double pah to the music choice, and Jimi and Flavia are dancing to Thriller. Halloween overload. Yay...

It's the worst song choice I've ever seen on Strictly. I have no idea how they could pull this off because AT is supposed to be quiet, sexy and powerful. Not loud and brash.

Well there was a whole thread about how Aliona was going to cause problems for Matt with her wacky coreography..........now we have a wacky music choice......and her costume looks like she is going to be in a bikini with one huge bat wing........very UN AT

Matt also said on ITT that the routine was FULL ON now I might be wrong but I take that to be 'frantic' again. She doesnt seem to put anything other than fast and furious into her routines....she needs to calm down a bit.

Thanks Ard - but don't forget the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. I know about the church stuff (I was brought up Catholic) but the pagan stuff always makes me smile.

Not that it matters now, what with the pumpkins and the ghost shit, and the sweetie begging...

Both of them should just shut up, grow up or take some good advice. Duracell bunnies the pair of them.

Mind you, Matt does not strike me as the intellectual type. Nuance and subtle are not words we'd ever find in his vocab.

Wagner is singing BOOH on the X Factor this week, apparently.

That plus Matt & Aliona would have been unforgettable.
