What if the Post Office and Government had allowed Trials/Frequencies?
If the Post Office and the Government had allowed the frequencies and trials for the mobile phone in 1979 how do you think communication by mobiles would have changed in the uk since then?

Can't see the video due to Apple and Adobe.

I don't think so. GSM would probably still be developed, and we'd probably still use it. For example, Norway developed their own NMT standard during the 70s, and made it publicly available in the early 80s. It uses GSM/UMTS today. It's a real shame that the GPO didn't implement many of the ideas it came up with. Quote:

That's why there is an Android Flash plugin - Adobe isn't being prevented from doing it thanks to a controlling megalomaniac CEO and his petty ways. (Oh, and hypocrisy. Apple hates Flash, and wants videos to be HTML5 and nice and open and fluffy. Apple *still* uses QuickTime on its own website for its videos) |

It's a real shame that the GPO didn't implement many of the ideas it came up with. Surely it's more to do with Apple? Yes, you're right. It's everything to do with Apple. It's a real ballache at times not being able to see websites as intended. I wish it would get sorted.
I'm using an apple and have no problems watching the video etc so it might not be an apple problem - ... ...maybe the user? |

He's probably using an iPhone or iPad not a Mac.
So not 'the user' on this occasion. |
