Michelle was overmarked. There were hardly any Jive steps in her Jive.

True. The dance was entertaining, but it wasn't a jive.

Oh I agree with that, but she still danced better than Pamela last night. At least her movements were a lot sharper and she managed a few passable kicks.

Michelle didn't do a better dance. She was overmarked by the judges - deliberately, I'm guessing - to keep her out of the danger zone even though her routine had minimal jive content.

Patsy had a little more jive in there but not much. Her character is not popular in Holby City - I've seen the audience research - so, again, I suspect the producers are instructing the judges to try and even out the public vote. In Patsy's defence, she is improving - but she was overmarked last night.

I don't think Pamela's jive was by any means her best dance - it was nowhere near as tight as it should have been - but it was definitely the best jive of the night.

I disagree, mainly because I thought it was so clumsy that it looked ugly and uncomfortable to watch. For me anyway.

Interesting comments I'm reading on this forum regarding "jive" and whose dance Saturday night had, or had not, enough "jive".

It all seems a bit artificial to me. Since the BBC/BBCWorldwide has, it should be obvious to even the casual observer, decided that their dance shows are about delivering performances are not all these quibblings about this or that step being not appropriate a bit, well, redundant?

Thus it seems to me that the criteria you applied (clumsy vs. elegant, beautiful vs. ugly, etc) really ought to be taken as the principles on which to judge who goes forward.

Well thanks Sam and welcome to the forum. It seems that 90% of the dances this year are some kind of showdance hybrid so judging on content has sadly become more redundant. Saying that I do think the judges should be more consistent with how they're applying this lack of rules.

That's the problem - there's no consistency at all! I just think that Ann receiving a 7 last week for a stupid gimmick was very unfair. The harness earned her the mark; it was nothing to do with Ann herself. Kara danced extremely well and only received one mark more than that from Len. Madness. The rules have been thrown out the window, which is depressing. This week was a total farce.

The only thing Michelle did different to her other bad dances was SMILE. I think she found out she had a couple of smiles for the month October left and wanted to use them.

Id say a few overmarked last night to be honest, Pamela just didnt suit the jive at all.. and looked clumsy, but I think she ll be kept in as she s popular with the judges and the public... Felicity made me want to be sick last week with her over sexy contribution.. not nice.

I thought Michelle looked even more uncomfortable than Pamela. Up until she made the mistakes, Pamela at least showed some jive technique!
