The fact is that after weeks of acting like a chav and rapping badly that her relatively 'normal' performance of tonight is giving people the impression that she is better than what she is. If she had done that exact same performance in the first week, no one would have batted an eye lid.

There is no way that that performance was better than Matt's performance of 'Baby One More Time' or Aiden's performance of 'Mad World' so for Simon to big her up the way he did just made the whole thing more insulting.

I hate the way Simon thinks that what he says is gold dust and that the public will just believe whatever he says. Well I'm not fooled, I actually have some perspective and two ears.

Agree with you. As someone else said, the song was the winner there, not the singer. Had they picked a rubbish song, she would not have gotten that praise.

Anybody can sound average with an average song ! .. it's common sense.

Simon is glodust which is why he makes a fortune from music whilst we act like know-it-alls on a forum. Cher has always been a top act for me along with Rebecca and Matt. She can sing Simon knows what he is talking about but then again maybe not and he only gets paid millions to flog bad muscians.

I agree! She was better than the rapping but still average at best. To my ears, she's not got a good range. When she tries to hit a high note her voice just really grates on my nerves. Lower, she's fine, but the transition isn't good. And I wanted to give her a chance but... she does not deserve being bigged up so much. Compared to others who have put in a range of fabulous different performances, she isn't all that special.

I also think she pulled a 'Danyl' by coming out all vulnerable and sullen after weeks of bad press. No doubt that was the producers decision.

Sorry OP I think you need to take your two ears to the ear doctor because they mustn't be working properly. Cher was fantastic tonight. I agree with Simon. Best performance of the series.

Sorry, OP, but you're wrong (imo of course). Matt or Aiden's performances didn't move me, Cher's did - and not just because she cried at the end. This girl has something really special (I've enjoyed every single one of her performances but the last 2 weeks have been tremendous) and I have no idea why she is so hated on this forum and apparently seen in a poor light compared with unoriginal warblers like Treyc. I have to question your motives, I really do.

Obviously. My point is they choice a song that no one could criticise or anything.

It's actually this interesting and little-known concept called a 'difference of opinion'.

I think she can sing but she's nowhere near the standard of some of the other performers, without the rap she will be going home and soon.

look none of them are brilliant singers - they all sing from the throat and have problems with scansion, phrasing, timing etc.
I was listening to them all but not watching the TV and thought Cher was the best tonight - not a fan of hers at all

She sang a good song really well , one of my favourite songs and I think she did it better than the original.

Vocally it's like someone from the special Olympics had joined the real Olympics, performing averagely and being praised for it like it was a work of God. While the actual talents are being snubbed. Ridiculous.

I agree, she was good but it was to do with her singing a regular song and not rapping. She had a few flat spots in her performance.

Matt, Aiden and Rebecca were far better.

seems to have been planned. Make her look bad and then the reveal, it's so x-factor

I think the judges plan for all of their acts to sing well. That's the point of the show...

And I didn't think she was bad before, if I'm honest. A lot of people who felt she was overhyped hated her though.

The way that she was saved for the last slot, cried at the end etc etc... it was just all too contrived. I knew even before she had sung a note that she was going to get hyperbolic praise from the judges (esp Simon).
