This article with Kelly Brook in the Mirror made me laugh. Sounds as if Kelly has a serious issue with fluffy123 - does anyone know if that person posts here?

Quote:
“Then she adds: “Some of those message boards on the internet when people comment about you are quite *horrendous,” she says. “There’s some *really evil people out there.

“The first time I was aware of it was when I was on Strictly Come Dancing and Brendan Cole said to me, ‘Whatever you do, don’t read the Strictly Come Dancing message board’. I didn’t even know there was one, but of course I was curious as soon as he said that.

“There was this Fluffy123. She hated me on Strictly. She did not want me to get through and every week she would *petition about voting me out. She had a vendetta.

“Let’s say she wasn’t that fluffy about what she said about me. She or he, I don’t know what it was, but this Fluffy123 definitely did not like me.””

It does make me realise that these are really people that we're posting about, not just a show

You'll be surprised who does read our forums,

That's why I don't like the degree of nastiness on here. People just say what they want about the celebrities, but God forbid if you criticise them in any way. How hypocritical. It's inevitable that most celebs will read some of the crap posted about them at some point.

I wonder how many of them actually read the Digital Spy forums though, as opposed to the SCD site message boards.

Well there isnt a message board on the official site this year... so DS is more likely to be a place to go to for public feedback...

Without being rude to DS, I wouldn't be surprised if they are told by their pro Partners not to go on DS SCD Forums, because of comments that could get you down!...Imagine if poor Felicity came and read every comment about her on here...it's a lot more damaging then you think, words can be the worst, and people should know that!

I don't understand why people hate Felicity so much. Her dancing isn't great, but she obviously has no dancing background and she's 64. Why are people so shocked? I think she comes across as a nice person, but she isn't as sickly-sweet as Barbara Good - she's more reserved. Why is that a crime? I think she looks good, but people have also decimated her appearance. Nastiness knows no bounds.

Good God, she should have listened to Brendan! The poor girl is probably still having nightmares about the stuff that was written about her.

(Quoting from Kelly)"The first time I was aware of it was when I was on Strictly Come Dancing and Brendan Cole said to me, ‘Whatever you do, don’t read the Strictly Come Dancing message board’. I didn’t even know there was one, but of course I was curious as soon as he said that."

I remember when Lisa Snowden was competing and during one appearance on ITT Claudia referred to the support she had received from the "forums" and Lisa made a comment about how she has been told that they could get "quite scary", but had read the messages of support left that week. Brendan obviously gave her the same advice as he gave Kelly!

Where does ITT look when Claudia is quoting fan comments to the couples. Have any of the names mentioned been from here? Or are they looking on the BBC blog page?

Some people can get very nasty and personal with comments. It's too easy to hide behind a messageboard name when no-one can see you.

Does Alesha read the forums ? I think not, or she takes no notice.

I think it's good advice not to look at the forums ESPECIALLY for young, attractive, talented female dancers.

There is no other way of looking at it - Kelly Brook is easily one of the most attractive women on the planet, and just so happened to be a great dancer as well. So SCD's (largely) female forum users got a major dose of the green mist.

It's mainly confined to one thread. To be fair, practically all of the celebs have attracted hateful comments. Some horrendous things have been written about Matt, Gavin, Pamela etc. I haven't seen very many negative posts about Kara though.

And the vitriol for Ann too...

Yes, that's largely the case. I do think that Kelly plays up to the stereotype though; she sees herself as a sexy woman, but that's all she is in her own mind. That doesn't translate well with other women. I'm not saying the bitchy comments were justified though.

Kara is a bit different, in that she seems to be very down-to-earth and normal.

Not just the celebs- Jared this year has had a really high level of vitriolic comments thrown his way- and largely as a response to a BBC decision regarding dancers.

Also- Ann has not had personal comments- she is lucky as the comments are reserved solely for her dancing.

Of course everyone who dislikes a dancer who clearly has no talent wishes Anne were out of the competition but doesn't care to say so in fear of unleashing a John Sergeant-like backlash. This would keep her in the show for even longer.

I think people tend to give out when their personal favourite isn't doing so well. There's been a lot of negativity towards Pam, and also Matt to some extent too. It does seem to come from specific areas of fandom too. It bugs me. I love 2 dancers, like one and am not a fan of, but still appreciative of all the rest. Even Ann! I know it's just part of the experience on here during showtime but it is weird. Just because you're a fan of one dancer doesn't mean you have to loathe another just because they tend to score better. We all know that the judges wind up with their faves but they also do tend to be correct in if not their scoring, their placing on the leaderboard. My fave is Pam but I agreed with their scores tonight. Apart from Craig. I also love Scott and that didn't happen until last week, but I'm in no way bitter towards the majority of dancers who scored higher than Pamela. Some of them even deserved it................................ (joke!)

Kelly should really have taken Brendan's advice - if I was a celeb I wouldn't come anywhere near a forum. You will always get people who dislike you & I think it's human nature as well for the bad things to stick in your mind.

I think Artem may have been on here as he tweeted about people commenting on his slouching on ITT the other day. If he did I hope he has also taken on board all the positive stuff that has been posted on here about him too.

There are also alot of messages of support and I Loved That type of threads for them on here so they could ignore the negative headline grabbing stuff that is just childish.

Most of us try to be constructive in our criticism and after all (if we vote at all) we do it for a reason because we liked someone.

We are also real people with real views and often alot of our posts are directed at the show/music etc not just the contestants. Alot of it is very very positive.

This year is excellent and I'm really enjoying all of it.

I loved Kelly and thought she was a very good dancer was a shame she had to leave the programme as would like to have seen how far she would have gone.

It is not only the celebs look at the Natlie bashing espectially last year - I always hoped she did not read the horrible comments espectially last year when she came to this country without family and friends etc and did not deserve the very personal comments.

Do not understand the need to be nasty anyway if you do not like a celeb or pro well just do not support them no need to get so nasty.

I think Craig does. He made some comment in a magazine interview about Alesha doing a great job, but needing to sort out her 'was' and 'were'

I'm pretty sure Artem has read this forum. People were nitpicking about the way he sat on the ITT sofa and he apologised on twitter.
