Superb Halloween Lark-a-bout!!!!

Sorry for the purists, but I really enjoyed 95% of tonight's show with the lights, the props, costumes and makeup (rather an improvement on the usual Sat offering) and the dances (apart from the Widdy Waddle, no- that's one bridge too far). Only prob was remaining 5% :- the music.
The Argentine Tango was not well served, and two of the singers had their voices overstretched in the high notes, though to give them justice, they did do several other numbers quite well, what could be heard of it above the rowdy audience intervention.

Sorry for all the people who want Strictly to be exactly the same every week for all 12 weeks or whatever. If there were nothing different, the cameramen would all fall asleep and the production studio would be on auto-pilot.

I expect I would be commonly regarded as a 'purist' but I would agree with you in most respects...apart from the percentage to be attributed to 'music' which was absolutely awful and murdered some of the performances

I absolutely loved it. The costumes, the props, the routines. I think the band and singers are amazing how they adapt to sing so many differing styles. The only thing that slams be back down to earth is some of the negativity and sillyness (Bruno) coming from the male judges.

This week and last week's shows have been fantastic and so uplifting - i get goose bumps watching. Far better than the overly loud, argumentative, chaotic, part-mimed offering on the other channel!

I thought it was a great injection of vitality, a bit DWTS in fact.

I wonder how that went down with the set designers and make-up.

Was it an opportunity to show what they could do, or a lot extra work?

I thought it was great & the Halloween theme worked well - they made a much better job of it than X Factor did their Halloween theme & when you consider the budget is much smaller than XF that's impressive.

I even liked most of the music - the only area where the theme didn't work was for the ATs.
