Balloon is much much harder to spell than parsnip.

Balloon could be spelt in many wrong ways - baloon, beloon, biloon, buloon, bulloon, billoon, belloon, and all of those again but lune not loon.

How else can you spell parsnip?

She was the only one who expressed her frustration at being part of failing the task.

The remainder didn't seem to register or acknowledge responsibility despite being being told that housemates had failed several times in the spelling test - Just look at Dan, couldn't spell entrepreneur yet came out acting like a champion - don't think he ever once considered that he could have been equally to blame.

Nadia let the team down, the difference between her and the others is that she showed remorse, while the other seemed to secretly blame others.

That wasn't remorse, it was just self-pity.

Nadia's BIG SECRET is obviously very much affecting her in the house, the only release from it is by having a cigarette and keeping herself calm, she knows that when she has no cigarettes, everything is much more difficult 10fold, so that is the reason she is panicking, she knows how much she needs her cigarettes to keep herself calm and collected, I think Nadia will flip if she can't get any..............

Remorse? A little, maybe, but surely vastly outweighed by her amazing accusation that BB "tricked her" by giving her a word with a couple of doubles in it. Sheesh.

I would loved to have seen her reaction if they had given bookkeeper to spell then

Sure she felt hard done by, but she still felt guilty that she'd got the word wrong.

My point is that Nadia's reaction to being unable to spell Balloon and thus contributing to the HM's failing the task was pure self-pity, not remorse. Her concern was for herself and the fear of a lack of cigarettes next week. That is not remorse.

But the fact that i) she's essentially a foreign citizen and ii) she has an addiction are things she should have considered and accepted upon applying and accepting a berth in the BB house. She can't claim special treatment - giving in to her on Day 22 with the emergency cigarettes was the day "Evil" Big Brother choked.

Found two REALLY interesting words (if I say so my self):

abderian...given to incessant or idiotic laugther. (why does this word describe nadia perfectly?)

And describing all digitalspy froum users in one word is
adoxography...skilled writing on an unimportant subject.

if you don't believe me check

Perhaps she would have got Stuart's word right!! (onomatopoeia) Personally never heard of it but my husband used to get this at school. (Sounds like nits or mumps or something!!)

I would have thought the obvious mistakes would be pasnip, passnip, parssnip, parrsnip and even parsenip. The problem with that word for speakers of some foreign languages would be the sound of the 'r' in the middle - I'm afraid I don't know about the Somali language as to whether it has it or not.

IMHO they were both fair words - quite common in the English language and both could have been seen written down in a shop or on a market. They were easy for English speakers and quite achievable for speakers of English as a second language. I thought the prods did well to find each HM a word they should spell but could also quite easily get wrong. The only gimme was Shell's 'graduate' - and that was fair enough as she was flustered enough by the situation to have even possibly got that wrong.

Erm, so was his saying to Nadia "It's not just your fault -- I got mine wrong as well" tantamount to dodging blame?
