I rather like him but he does still seem to think that having a natural rhythm and ability to interpret music will carry him through the competition. It's almost as if he's decided he's going to be good at this (fair enough in a way - the natural signs are there) so it should all come naturally. Problem is, that even for those who have a certain innate ability to dance, this type of dancing is far more complicated than that. Being able to move is not enough - you need discipline and control; in other words, you need to really concentrate and be prepared to go back to basics.
It's not that I don't think that Jimi is working hard - I'm sure he is. However, I'm not convinced he's taking on board what matters. I think he expected to be better more quickly than he is, he seems to be looking for a bit of a short cut and he's probably getting frustrated. I've seen it with pupils time and again - you point out what they've done wrong, you give them advice, they go "Yeah, yeah" they go off, they work and make exactly the same mistakes. It's not deliberate, they really don't seem to see what they're doing wrong.
