  • Strictly Come Dancing
For the first time ever...

Yesterday's Strictly Come Dancing was BARELY watchable. I don't mean that in the way that it was unwatchable, and therefore bad. But it couldn't keep my complete interest, as it usually does. I was actually gaming online and chatting on the phone which is usually unheard for me. Here are just some of the non-events that made me fade out:

1) Michelle and Brendan's Jive with hardly any discernible jive moves (although I must say Brendan looked better as a fair haired Max Wall then he does as his normal self) to speak of

2) Felicity and Vincent taking an age to walk down a flight of stairs instead of doing any dancing. Way to run down the clock

3) The Argentine Tango performed to Meatloaf with some really laboured lifts thrown in. As inappropriate music choices go, this is right up there with performing the Paso Doble to the strains of mullet haired rock tune The Final Countdown.

4) Ann was of course Ann...nuff said.

However I did enjoy the Scott being an undead zombie brought to life by his witch partner. And Jimi's lift (if you can call it that) was pretty cool. But apart from those two highlights I'm afraid SCD is losing its "must see" staus it used to have with me. Anyone else feel the same?

I do feel the show is becoming more and more Americanized all the time, and that really is a shame, but, I enjoyed most of the dances (including Ann's!) and the Meatloaf tango was actually my favourite.

IF (emphasis on the if) it is a one off change rickster....I can accept it, but I fear this isn't the case. I don't even mind the bad dancing (I only get enraged when the bad dancers are saved week after week), as you can only dance to the best of your ability. But Felicity and Vincent especially running down the clock whilst doing a genteel stroll down the stairs is nothing less than yawn inspiring:yawn:
