Spelling Bee

I was very impressed with the way that Big Brother chose to give Shell the news about her graduation. the whole spelling bee on the plasma screen went some way to explaining the news item on BBLB the day before.

Had it not been such a sensitive subject, and potentially damaging emotionally, do you think that the BB producers were toying with the idea that Nadia's word for the spelling bee could be "transsexual"? Apart from being evil, that would have been evil Given the shock on being told about Nadia's past from Emma, Vanessa and Marco, I seriously doubt that, if BB had gone down that route, that any of the others would have clicked anyway, and the result would have been that Nadia would have felt very uncomfortable.

As an aside to that, Jason's going to be shown the jam licking when he gets that particular revelation from Davina.

I'm not sure of the point, but I found it lame that BB used American school references.

"Spelling Bee"? Never heard that in Britain before, only on American films. Likewise "Show and Tell".

Some of the "historical events" were interesting -- Ginger Spice leaving the Spice Girls and Elvis Presley dying on a toilet. Yeah, they really stand out as the two colossal events of 20th century history.

Can explain. Young media kids only watch American TV these days - it's the law.

Can't have them getting a remotely accurate impression of what the UK's really like, can we?

Show and tell indeed(y).
