In my opinion she is the best and should win

But i think who really put a dampner on her performance last night was simon when he said that she reminded him of Leona Lewis great praise indeen but the fact later on show ruined any compliment he gave rebecca by saying chers performance was the performance of the series.

In my opinion that comment he made shows what simon is all about and that is greed and money i always thought simon was funny and always tells it how it is but really shows how fake he is these days if he thinks rebecca is as good as leona then makes out cher was the best performance of the series doesnt that mean he thinks cher is better than leona that is absoutley ridicolous

Dont get me wrong cher sang pretty well and she had a great song but the over hype of her really put the starlight off the true winner last night and that was rebecca

love her hope she beats the manipulation of simon and cheryl

Confusing what he said when you think about it, but he obviously wants Cher to stay in for as long as possible... be interesting to see her vote figures when they are released up until this point...

Rebecca just needs to keep her head down, and sing well... do what she does....

I don't think she can, unless she improves a helluva lot. She lacks stage presence and confidence. I usually like the diva type singers (big fan of Leona), but Rebecca just doesn't cut it for me. I can't believe Simon compared them; they're poles apart.

In what way does she lack confidence compared to the other girls breaking down into tears?

The only way people keep saying this crap is because the show keeps going on and on about it...

Improve?, She's head and shoulders above 98% of them already. Most people find her having a wonderful stage presense - WTF are you talking about? What should she do?

She's different from Leona because they have different voices, just the same quiet demeanour.

I think dullard Matt will win, he'll get the teen girl vote. Just like Joe did last year, yawn
She will be successful though, anyway

Yes I think she has a great chance, as do Matt, Cher and One Direction.

Though I don't know if Cher will appeal to enough of the audience as a whole to go all the way.

After Gamu was left out, she is probably my second favourite from the audition process. I think that she has such a soulful and powerful voice. She may not be brash and outgoing, but that shouldnt be a pre-requisite of having a succesful career.

But Im afraid she doesnt fit the preconception of what Simon wants (which I suspect is the tabloid friendly and erratic Cher, or some bland good looking guy like the painer decorator)... I think they'll set her up with inappropriate song choices and let her go and save someone with less talent to get more media hype.

Personally, despite all his so called pop expertise, I think he is dead wrong. I bet Susan Boyle sold more records than any X Factor winner ever has,

Rebecca has got a really good chance at winning. Nearly everyone seems to like her, and she has the talent. If Matt doesn't start to get better songs i think she could become more popular than him by the time the final comes round.

Of course Rebecca can and probably will win. There is no doubt in my mind that she's the chosen one this series.

I wouldn't say Joe McElderry's winning was down to the teen girl vote. His appeal was more down to the fact that he is a very talented vocalist, and, therefore, more rooted in substance rather than superficiality. I see both Matt and Rebecca, similarly, appealing on substance and yes, I do think she can win

No, that's not necessarily true at all, and certainly isn't for me. I form my own opinions. It was apparent to me from the first live show that she was very lacking in confidence and is one of the reasons I haven't warmed to her at all. She looks nervous, she doesn't hold herself well and she rarely moves. I can't say that about the other girls. Perhaps if you took your blinkers off, you'd see what others are seeing so clearly.

But many like that quality. Why would you not warm to someone shy or quiet; many people are repulsed by the likes of confident Katie and Cher.

What's wrong with not having confidence; she does her thing; she dlelivers each week. She's not a circus monkey to have to go jumping around the stage. Like any other of her type. There's no gimmicks and bull.

Cher has broken down twice. Katie is even worse, as evidenced tonight, and disgustingly arrogant and unlikeable. Maybe Katie is your type.

To become the clear favourite, she needs a show stopping performance. Like wot Joe had with 'Don't let the sun go down'.

Actually, I don't particularly care for any of the girls this year, and can't see any of them winning, but this thread's about Rebecca, not the others.

Ironically, she'll likely win for the very reasons you say she won't. People like her for that very reason.
