No Winner has ever been in a Sing Off
Having looked back at previous X Factor series there is one clear fact. No who has ever been in a Sing Off has gone on to win.
Hope Katie is reading this

Doesn't make it an impossibility though. Like if Matt/Rebecca ended up in the bottom 2, I wouldn't write them off solely because they'd been in the bottom.

I hate this girl but I don't reckon she's in it to win it. I think she wants to get as much exposure as possible, get onto the X Factor tour to set herself up a bit and then release her album under a different label etc. I reckon this is all just a publicity stunt for her... She does my head in!!

Wouldn't take anything for granted after what happened in "Over The Rainbow" this year

Doesn't mean it wont happen - just highly unlikely.
No Group has won before - however doesn't mean a group wont. Strangely on both counts JLS were the closest to win out of the groups and bottom 2 placed contestant [they got a higher % than G4 to win ]

Alexandra came very, very close to being in the bottom two once or twice.

Also the girl that won that Eurovision comp was in the bottom 2 but they were both on BBC, probably less voting & hype on that Channel. I don't watch Strictly but it happened there 2 didn't it? (A bit of a different comp but still as much a popularity contest). ![]() Also Cheryl Tweedy was in the bottom 2 (Twice I think) and still made the band Girls Aloud. |

Another interesting point is last year when Rachel Adedeji was in the sing off for the 3rd time Simon decided to vote her off because she had been in the sing off twice before and he thought the public weren't connecting with her. Wonder if he will do the same with Katie as he may see her as a lame duck.

Honestly, I think this is far more trivial than people make out. Whilst its a fact that no winner has ever been in the bottom two/showdown situation, ultimately it will make no difference to the overall outcome if they are or not.
Plus, we have no idea how the voting went for the first four years anyway. Its entirely plausable that the winner was third bottom every single week. It doesnt really make a difference how you do throughout the series, as long as you can gain popularity.
