As c4 seem to be responsible for the housemates welfare, do you think theyll adopt her?

hope this isn't going to be seen as a nasty post - am just saying how I feel .......

I find it fascinating that a family that have "high" religious values ...... find it easy to instantly disown their daughter ..... it's the family and their values that disgust me not Becki.

If my daughter behaved like that (ok when she is older lol) I would want to talk to her and try and argue my point of view ... but NEVER would I disown my child .... even if she murdered .... not saying I wouldn't give her a very large piece of my mind (err not that I can spare much lol) and I would be sad beyond belief etcetc .. but to disown a child shows that her parents and brother have no real REAL love - and I say becki is better with close friends than a family like that lot.

Very little really riles me ... but the report in the papers from her family - yup that hit the spot ... god-fearing nah don't believe they are .... spineless characters that are scared of public opinion ... yup that's how I would describe them ... now please don't yell at me ....

Are they all trying to pretend that they knew nothing about the way that she has lived her life before this? The girl's hardly been low profile - she's been on TV before, has a web site, and has certainly been around. I can't see her ever having gone home in the past few years pretending to be a conventional muslim girl.

Some people in the family, perhaps not all, but some, must have known what she was like. It seems like damage limitation within the community to me. I don't particularly like her, but feel sorry for her if the report is true - why can't they just accept her for what she is? In comparison, Marco's mum seemed lovely. He's an exhibitionist and outlandish, but she has done what any mum should - loved him and accepted his quirks. Good on her, shame on Becki's family.

I'm not too sure they'd want her either.

I suspect Becki is old enough to stand on her own two feet and like they say, you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.

Jeez what hypocrites! She's 33 years old and has probably always had a "wayward" personality. But thats OK so long as no-one else knows, right?
I wouldn't be thrilled if my daughter went on TV but I doubt there is anything short of committing a cold-blooded murder that would make me disown my child.

completely agree with you here-and im afirad it comes down to that word again yes religion

some people are so coinvinced you shouldnt do certain things they will disown you over it

but whos missing out? they are-if they think they'll be happier without their daughter around then so be it

i do think its sad though

Of course the cynic in me thinks that some sort of charm offensive is taking place. That sympathy is being sort as a last means of offence. Otherwise, that lady is gone.

I am surprised the article wasn't signed off: 'a family friend'. The universal sign of creative journalism

I seem to remember a similar spate of 'rejection' stories taking place on the days of other potential evictions

If it was signed by "a family friend" it would be easier to dismiss as a charm offensive I think
However two family members have been directly quoted

"Yesterday, Sidi, 43, said there would be no family at Elstree studios to meet Becki if she leaves the house.

"She has brought total shame to the family name and now we don't want anything to do with her.

"I used to have a sister, now I don't. I never want to see her again. She has sold herself cheap."~ Daily Mirror

Taoufik,44,said: 'We don't want to have anything more to do with Becki. She is no longer welcome in our home.

'People back in Morocco are very angry about this. They cannot believe that a Moslem girl is behaving in this way.

'Some people have even gone as far as to say they will kill her if she goes back to Morocco for all the shame she has brought on Islam.

'They are concerned that people will think all Moslem women are like this.'

And he warned that if she had sex in front of millions of viewers it would be the end of her 75-year-old dad Ahmed.

He said: 'If she does go all the way, it will kill her father.'~Daily Record

The Daily record goes on to print a quote from the

Chairman of the Moslem council, condemning Becki's actions

Wasn't Marco's mother quoted in papers, during the first couple of weeks of BB, for saying (allegedly) that she was so ashamed of him that she was leaving the country? But yet she was there for him on his eviction night. I'm sceptical of press reports of HM's families' reactions. The press are known for making these things up. Also. I think Narinder faced some sort of (possible) back-lash from the Sikkh community when she was on BB2. But yet her mother was there for her on her eviction night. I'm not totally convinced that Becki's family have really disowned her. This could be either a ploy by them for sympathy votes or more sensationalist tabloid "fiction" disguised as fact as a ploy to make her more of a villainess so they have an angle for her post eviction interviews. (e.i. "Headline: Becki hated by family and public gets the BB boot" or "How I defied my family to appear on BB" or "BB has wrecked my life", etc.)

bechi has brought shame and agony upon her family. You have to understand her culture which does not accept such whore-like behaviour.

She has embarrassed her family, who come from a conservative background, so of course they are going to be angry. I dont think its fair to blame it on her religious background either: there are a lot of places i've lived in the UK who would react far more strongly than that. We should remember that we watch Big Brother: the stuff we see is not shocking to us, but to many people, the 60s never happened - the word sex is still a taboo. Should they 'disown' her, no of course not. My family are very open minded, but if i behaved like that in front of millions of people, i'd feel terrible about the effect on my loved ones: they dont have any control over what i'm doing in the house, or what's written about me in the papers.

TBH, I don't come from a religious background, but if I had behaved like Becki on TV, I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that although my mother might come round, and my sister and brother wouldn't think much of it but would be ok; my father would never ever speak to me again.. GUARANTEED!

That background certainly goes some way in legitimising the clam of estrangement. But these journalists weave such a convoluted story thread, that it is almost impossible to separate truth from fiction.

I would love to hear from a young Muslim that has chosen a more secular path through life. So that they might deliver a verdict on whether separating from a predominant Muslim family is painless, or a cause of life long friction, or worse

That's dreadful. I see a smiting. You get the stake set up, I'll nip down the shops and buy matches and newspaper - ooh, and maybe some marshmallows.

I wish families like these (and I know people from Christian (practising) families that have disowned them for being gay) don't know the real meaning of shame. They are the ones bringing shame on themselves by their mean-minded intolerance and lack of compassion.

Couldn't agree more. I know my Bible, and although I am not all thast familiar with the Koran, I am pretty sure that both books consider a child as a gift from God.. Jesus taught the parable of the prodigal son for example
The trouble with organised religions is that they place as much faith in the teaching of Clerics and so on who post-date the Holy texts, but who were flawed and human and more often than not , highly prejudiced
