I'd also like to know why we haven't got 4 HD, it's available on freeview HD.
. The lack of CH4 HD is nothing to do with Humax, or the delayed firmware upgrade

LOL, don't you just love marketing speak. Translation: "It's been five years and yes we are still fixing bugs and creating new ones."
Yes I do know the PVR-9200T had some major functional updates early in its life to make it compatible with Freeview+ but the rest of the updates are just bug fixes and only a marketing person could make a positive statement about taking five years to find and fix bugs. |

![]() There are still a whole load of little niggles with the Foxsat that it doesn't look as if they are going to address in this update. It's particularly annoying because in a lot of cases the fix would be trivial. It's just that they can't be bothered. It's still an excellent piece of kit, though. |

For most, sane, reasonable, people lamenting a company not fixing bugs for years on end does not constitute 'throwing your rattle out of the pram'.

Nearly finished the latest round of testing and subject to no issues being found then it can be released. I won't be drawn on a date to get hung by but everything looks positive.

As long as Humax keep holding up the one single case where they have actually added functionality to a box after selling it I will keep pointing out how bad their record actually is, regardless of how much that annoys the fanbois. There is a simple way to get me to shut up - persuade Humax to fix the HDR or release the code so I can. |

No but constantly bleating about it at every possible opportunity does. The poster jumps on every thread with the slightest chink of relevance with the same diatribe. It's getting pretty boring. If the hdr is so bad why does he not simply get rid and let the rest of us enjoy what is overall a great piece of kit.

Badvok, Don't dis Humax, at least they are ten times better than Panasonic - They do provide updates with improved functionality and bug fixes, they do reply to support emails, their support teams do help with problems, and they don't ignore their customers. I do sometimes wish I hadn't upgraded to a Blu Ray recorder, it could be such a fantastic piece of kit if Panasonic would just sort it out !!

![]() ![]() ![]() True, we've had our moments with it and its foibles but in the main it has given us 100's of hours of great entertainment when we've needed it to.

![]() As for Humax, my experience obviously differs from yours. I have owned 4 different Humax STBs. Only one of those has had functionality added (Freeview+ added to 9200T). Two received very little in terms of updates and are still left with numerous bugs (HDCI-2000 and F2-FOXT). The fourth is a great machine let down by poor software that even Humax have admitted is pretty much as good as it will ever get (Foxsat HDR), and remember that iPlayer is not added functionality it was always supposed to be there to meet the Freesat spec. Lastly, I have no means to get in touch with them to complain directly, all my emails go unanswered, my only option is to highlight my experiences on here, much to the annoyance of their fan-club. I wish I could say I'm off to buy brand X but it really doesn't look like there is anything better than Humax such as they are. I'm now looking at spending considerably more money by building my own HTPC, when I get the time, so I can finally ditch Humax for good. |

Tbh a lot of these "arguments" seem just for arguments sake on here and pizzes me off.We all want something different, extra, with our gadgets and I spose, largely, it's down to how much money you want to spend, but I've found with the Humax hdr no problems with the software that has niggled me in over a year. You get info, advice, etc from the Humax staff here (and how many brands do that?) and tbh I wonder why they bother sometimes with some of the distorted remarks on here.........It's a very good piece of kit.
PS Can't wait for the buffer record feature.

Badvok you state that BBC iplayer is not an added feature and that it was in the original Freesat spec.Show us the link to support that statement.
I have always been a "Fan" of Humax their support is far superior to most companies. If the tone of your emails is anything like your posts on here I could understand a reluctance by Humax (or any other company)to respond to you!! I am not saying that Humax are perfect NO company is,but in the main I think that the Pros far outweigh the Cons when using their kit. |
