On the coverage checker for my home postcode it says excellent 2G and good 3G when I actually get no 3G and ok 2g.

At work it says excellent 3G and excellent 2g when I get no 3g and depending on weather I may get 1 bar 2g

So I phoned Vodafone, and apparently the map the customer service rep uses is totally different to the website one, at hpme it says variable and at work no coverage which is about right, so the rep has filled in a request to get the map altered, so this is just 2 postcodes. I wonder how many else are wrong. She gave me £5 credit for the trouble but I will be going ASAP

Same here.

At home I have Very Good coverage for 3G according to the checker - although Poor would be a better choice of words, with 1 bar, and then at work it's described as Good, although "non existant unless on the roof" would be more appropiate.

Incidentially I've found the Three checker to be much more accurate in my local area, you can sit on the train and watch the signal die out exactly as the checker describes as you go along

Those maps are not pinpoint accurate, the VF map is so tiny anyway, they are predicted coverage and not to be taken as confirmation, also most companies (although not sure in this case) refer to outdoor coverage.

Inside the house it can depend on the type of house, thickness of the walls side of the house you're on vs where the nearest cell sites are, and so on.

The VF coverage checker is the worst of the 5 though in my opinion.

Vodafone is overrated. Even with the bad press O2 gets about 3G coverage I still find O2 to be the best. I wouldn't mind, but Vodafone just isn't consistent. Sometimes signal is 2 bars, then other days in exactly the same place I get no bars, then the next I get 1 bar, then 2. I would prefer to have consistently crap than fluctuation. With O2 I get 3 bars consistently all the time and it was the same when I was with T-Mobile. It is like the Vodafone cell towers get moved on a daily basis.
