How dare the Police control BB5 !
zzenzero

I've had just about enough of hearing that the police might close this show down if....whatever.
Who do they think they are? They're great at being heavy handed with easy targets e.g. motorists, BB HMs, or some poor sucker with a mild drug.
Where are they when the REAL criminals are at work?
How dare they decide whether we the public should or shouldn't have this particular reality show to watch.
It's the same with HM Customs...too busy confiscating things that don't really harm anyone to concentrate their efforts on dangerous merchandise or people.
The police force sucks.......as do those controlling it.

I think the police should come on to the BB5 set tonight during the traditional post-eviction drink.

Then the housemates could at least score some coke.

They take cocaine at post-evection partys?

I'm not sure the police have the authority to close down a show. They can arrest individuals. So BB might play safe by cutting off the feed if there is any chance a violent episode may occurr to pre-empt any interference and complaint. I am sure the police do not have the authority to insist on seeing what goes on in the house in private so they would have to rely on the feed or on public complaints, which there cannot be if no one has seen it.

Hmmm, a party with lots of young media types?

Oh, the weather ouside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

That would, indeed, be fcuking hilarious if the filth raided the show and ended up instead nicking Endemol staffers for possesion.

They could sell that on to the Hms as well.

I really don't think the worries expressed here are based on anything more than made up stories... HC have no intention of 'shutting down' Big Brother.

I doubt the police have much interest in BB..however Broadcasting Standards etc will have an immense interest.............

In theory the Police can enter any place, public or private, to sort out a breach of the peace.

Not without a warrant in a private place.

But the person goes straight to Davina and up on the stage! When do the police get a look in?

I don't know the rules so I've no idea but I do know an awful lot of nervousness and blame games were generated by Fight Night. Most of the speculation seemed to be around C4/endemol abnegating their duty of care. The perception in some quarters that at that point the aesthetic and moral differences between BB5 and the Bumfights videos wasn't exactly carvernous, won't have gone in their favour.

I'm not totally sure but I think endemol have also been naughty elsewhere and have generated ill feeling towards themselves in the industry.
