Chart Updates: Week Ending 7 November 2010
Thought that rather than have the discussion on The Sound comment box, I'd start a forum thread on it, that way discussion can be more open and frequent.
Anyhow, as of Tuesday 2nd November: Singles #1 - Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) #2 - Alexis Jordan - Happiness #3 - Cheryl Cole - Promise This #4 - Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are #5 - Katy Perry - Firework #6 - Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me #7 - Cee Lo Green - Forget You #8 - Shakespears Sister's - Stay #9 - Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand #10 - The Saturdays - Higher (feat. Flo Rida) #11 - will.i.am - Check It Out (feat. Nicki Minaj) #21 - Tinchy Stryder - Second Chance (feat. Taio Cruz) #26 - Roll Deep - Take Control (feat. Alesha Dixon) #27 - Ne-Yo - One In A Million #35 - Nadine Coyle - Insatiable Albums #1 - Cheryl Cole - Messy Little Raindrops #2 - Bon Jovi - Greatest Hits #3 - Rumer - Seasons Of My Soul #12 or #13 - Peter Andre - Accelerate My thoughts: Really surprised that Tinchy Stryder and Roll Deep aren't higher, I thought we were living in the age of hip-hop, rap and grime and both are actually fairly decent in comparison to their respective number-one singles. Likewise, am surprised Ne-Yo, who's vocals are fantastic isn't higher, silly him for bringing out the album first though, means people will buy the whole album as opposed to the single. Album wise, wasn't expecting Bon Jovi or Rumer to get top 3, thought Kings of Leon would stick around a lil' while longer, hopefully Tinie Tempah can stay in the Top 10 a little longer too. Thoughts? |

Firstly, where did the info come from. Is it itunes, or the official chart? Secondly, the power of X Factor with Stay at no.8

Information has come from The Sound's bulletin and then sourced information found elsewhere.

How is Diana doing, the CD version is out now. Nadine needs a top 10, she should be number 1 or at least top 20. |

yay Riri #1!!!! love Only Girl!
and that performance was so strong too! loved it cannot wait to get her album.Surprised Cheryl slipped a couple places, but Happiness is a good song i must say, very summery though but i like Alexis' vocals i must say. Kinda like a young Kelly Rowland style, but very nice sample of Deadmau5 i must say. having said that, i think Rihanna could get more sales than Cheryl in her two weeks on the chart! and become one of the hugest selling non-charity single of the year! if not THE hugest selling single of the year, i mean she was only 20,000 or so behind Promise This with no promotion prior! would be very great and deserving.....ITS AN ANTHEM MAAAN!!!! also, i love Nadine's song very much! she really grew on me with GA very strong voice indeed, and i would love her Insatiable to get higher, and i hope her debut album sells well too! i love the style. |

Finally, the saturdays are climbing, such an awesome tune. Original versions been in the chart for what? 4-6 Weeks prior to release!?

I'm pleased that it looks like Rihanna is going to number 1.
Only Girl is such a good song, her sales last week were impressive, even if it was just a number 2. I wonder what they could be this week, with the X Factor performance and all that. |
