I think you need to have a memory card to be able to copy music over. Once you've done that, connect it to your PC, and a message should come up on your phone saying something about mass storage mode. Click yes, and then you can just drag and drop music from your PC to your phone using the normal folder view. Although once you've got a memory card you could just use the Blackberry desktop software, which would probably be easier and safer. Hope this is helpful!
