Ok, I've found the task. Guys, I have to go to bed now but I'll be back tomorrow with my ideas and input!
Here's our task: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...295&highlight= Lord Milk says: "Those are the two groups. Your first task as a group(s) is to create the image for the group. Create a logo for your team and also an editorial to go with it explaining the reason for choosing the name. I want to see what you lot are made of. How you are going to promote yourself when it comes to selling. You're professional business men/ladies and the group as a whole will come down to how you come across. In the editorial promote the group well. You're not dummies so I expect you to all use your imagination. I will see you in the boardroom a week tomorrow where one of you will be getting fired.." Ok, so we need a name. Any ideas? Also, re the image, do any of you have skills in that area? I have photoshop but I'm more a photographer than an illustrator, but I'll help where I can of course. Regarding the name, because we need an editorial we really need to be united over a name that speaks to us and represents us all. Oh, and I'd be happy to be PM on this task if you'd like me. I'm a journo but that means I have authoring skills which could come in handy for the editorial and photography skills which could be useful for the logo, though if anyone here's a designer I'd be happy for them to take on the logo. Look forward to getting to know my teammates! -- Sam Day-Wright |

OK.
Task date it has to be completed Thursday 11th November 1pm. Boardroom will be held for the same day at 07:00PM. Depending on whether you lot are online, the boardroom may run for a day or so in order for you lot, the candidates, to have a good chance to defend yourselves in the boardroom and be online. What I've decided to do is have a boardroom for each group. Even though normally the two groups would collide in the programme, it would be pointless and confusing for me to do that as you lot can't see each other's reactions except through what you type. You can discuss anything regarding the firing etc in The House anyway. When boardroom time is ready, I will put a link to the boardroom thread in here so that you don't get confused.

Does that mean I'm elected?
(I'm presuming you're John, we know Jo's reading too, who and where is George?) I'd be happy for you to do the logo (could you come up with a couple so we can choose between them?) But first we need a name. I'm off to bed right this minute, but I'll ponder overnight and post any ideas here tomorrow lunchtime. If the rest of you could do the same that would be very helpful, considering we need a backstory too (now I see the wisdom in Team Apollo having a good reason for their name!) Night all! -- Sam |

(Also these names are a bit confusing, I went for Sam so I'd be "in character" but as my username here is my actual name, maybe I should revert to that! madlh100 what do you think? If it's ok, then I'll PM you the corrected info. But if it's easier to stick to Sam that's fine. Just thought it might be handy to have a character name which could be either gender depending on the task >

Thanks, boss!
Ok. Team name. I've been brainstorming (oh, sorry I mean having an idea shower Reflecting the fact we are online rather than meeting for real: * The V team (V for virtual) * e2010 (I wanted v2010 but thought it might be confused with V festival) others: * Present (because we are current; because we can present to people; and because with 8 people playing if we lose one a week, whoever is left standing at the end will effectively get an early Xmas present!) * Trend (bit naff but it was one of my early ideas) So now I've got the ball rolling please chip in with other ideas, team! The sooner the better so John can press on with the logo. Of my own list I favour "present" not because it's the strongest name but because of the backstory that we need to, er, "present". John, how much time do you need for the logo; if we all decide on a name by the end of the weekend can you get a couple of drafts ready fairly quickly or do you need to be doing the work over the weekend? |

Name: (Can be made up) John Hutchings
Forum name: Hutchy_Muse Name: George David - O'Patrick - McAndrews (My mum had a threesome with a Scot and an Irishman) Forum name: Matty Name: Sam Day-Wright Forum name: flashwilson Name: Jo Forum name: Jo09 ___________ There still seems to be confusion. Those are the names that were submitted and I have included the forum name too. As for contacting members, that is up to you. You can contact that member using the 'forum name' that I've put down. To be honest, a word of advice, as long as you put in the effort it won't go unnoticed. Candidates who show to be lazy and unwilling to put the work in will feel the force. Sir Lord Milk is watching you all very carefully.

Hey Team!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if you have decided on a team name yet but I am thinking of some. Excelsior! Impact! Yeah. I realise these are terrible. I will edit this post when I think of more.

Hey Matty, good to see you! Are you happy for me to be team leader? (Read up this thread!)
Also, what do you think of my team name ideas? I am very happy to hear other ideas as I'm sure there are better ones BUT they need a backstory (i.e. why this name is significant - in the same way Apollo represented the first probes to reach the moon so it was historic, rather than just a name which means nothing) AND we need a name which we can easily turn into a logo, which John has volunteered to do.So what do your names mean and what is their history? I suggested some above, but I'm sure there are better ideas out there, can't wait to hear them! I think we should pick a name on Monday out of all the suggestions, so that John has time to do a logo and I have time to write up the backstory neatly. So Matty please do explain what your names represent so we can better understand them. I'm so glad you're here ![]() PS "terrible" is fine, at least that way we have something to work with rather than nothing at all! |

Yeah i'm fine with you being team leader.
Excelsior! and Impact! don't really have a meaning to them. I just liked the sound of them. I like the sound of Trend though. The word Trend always pleases me.

How about the team name Enterprise.
It was the name for a number of US navy and Royal Navy ships. |
